An EDC knife is probably one of the most important tools a guy can carry…
Just think about it, carrying a reliable knife every day is a great way to be prepared for common tasks that always seem to pop up…
And here’s the deal, you want something that can handle the tough jobs, but let’s be honest, it has to look cool too (at least I think so).
So keeping in mind those two important criteria, I’ve created a list of the Top 10 Best EDC Knives out on the market…
All the knives on this list will easily handle to duties of any EDC blade, and they all have a lot of character, which will wake you proud to show them off to your buddies.
What Is An EDC Knife?
An EDC knife is an “every day carry” knife. Typically it’s a folding knife that can be clipped inside of a pocket…
…and it’s used for everyday tasks that come up such as opening packages and boxes.
Sometimes an EDC knife can flex into the role of a defensive knife, but its primary focus is to be a utility knife.
With that out of the way, let’s get into my list of the Top 10 Best EDC Knives!
1. The Boker Magnum Co-Operator
Watch The Video Below:
The Boker Magnum Co-Operator is an awesome EDC knife. To start off with, I love the mix of wood and steel on the grip…
It makes the knife have kind of an “old school” feel, but at the same time, it still looks sleek and new.
I also really love the blade shape. It’s kind of a mix between a clip point and a spear point, and it just ends up looking really cool.
Another thing I really like about it is the gunmetal color on the blade and the metal parts of the grip.
Again, It looks great and adds to the unique character that this knife has going for it.
In the end, this knife is strong, it looks great, and it comes in at a pretty solid price).
2. CRKT M16
CRKT is one of the best pocket knife brands out there, and the CRKT M16 is their super fast tactical-looking folder.
To start off, it has an assisted opening blade. So it really snaps open quickly. It also has a blade safety that locks the blade into position and makes it a pretty strong folding knife.
I love the spear point blade version, but it also comes in tanto blade variations (which I also think are really cool).
Really in the end, I think it’s a great knife that seems like it should cost a lot more money than it does.
3. Firebird Folding Knife
Watch The Video Below:
The Firebird folding knife is one of the lesser known EDC knives on the market, and I think it’s kind of a hidden gem.
I love the broad drop-point blade on this knife, which makes this knife pretty heavy-duty for its size.
I also really love the ergonomic handle design which seems to sit in my hand really well.
It comes in two handle colors (black and orange), and the clip allows you to carry it in your pocket pretty deeply.
Usually knives that look like this end up being very expensive, but surprisingly, this knife is super affordable.
4. CRKT Drifter
The CRKT Drifter is another fantastic folding knife. I personally think it’s the perfect size EDC knife (not too big, not too small).
It has very tough G10 handles that are also very comfortable, and the blade shape is super cool (it’s kind of a wavy drop-point).
It comes in many variations, but my favorite is the Gray Titanium Nitride finish because it just looks awesome.
And once again, this knife has an amazing price tag and seems like it should cost a lot more than it actually does.
5. Kershaw Cryo
Watch The Video Below:
Kershaw is another one of the best pocket knife brands out there, and the Kershaw Cryo is one of the best designs they offer.
It’s a clean, simple, all-steel design, and it’s so thin that it simply seems to disappear when I’m carrying it around my pocket.
It also has a Titatinum Carbo-Nitride finish, and the drop-point blade looks really sleek. It flips open really easily, and you can feel the smoothness when the blade is being deployed.
It really is a great design that, once again, comes in at a super affordable price!
6. Spyderco Yojimbo
Spyderco is known for making amazing folding knives. To me a lot of their knives, while being very high quality, just all look the same…
However, I think the Spyderco Yojimbo really stands out because it has that totally unique and AWESOME blade shape.
It’s broad and super strong, and it reminds me of a Viking seax, which I think is really cool. It also has G10 handles that are strong and comfortable, and Spyderco always uses great steel.
The steel on the Yojimbo is S30V which means it’s going to hold it’s edge well and be super sharp. The blade also deploys quickly and smoothly, and like I mentioned before, it just looks cool.
In the end, the Spyderco Yojimbo is a premium blade that’ll cost you a little bit more money but will be well worth it.
7. Western Active Honey Badger
The Western Active Honey Badger is another hidden gem EDC knife. To start off, it has a super smooth opening with a flipper, and I really like the blade shape.
It’s a simple drop point, and it just looks very clean. It also has the honeycomb grip that gives this knife a ton of character, and you can get it in different colors and different sizes.
Once again, it’s a great knife that comes in at a great price, and it’s surprising that it kind of goes under the radar.
8. Kershaw Leek
The Kershaw Leek is possibly the best pocket knife of all time. As usual with Kershaw, it’s a simple and sleek design.
It also has a comfortable stainless steel handle that comes in many different colors and a very interesting (and useful) blade shape.
The blade is extremely sharp, and because it’s a high-quality steel, it holds its edge very well.
This is a VERY popular EDC knife because it’s compact, strong, and performs very well.
9. Boker Magnum First Responder
The Boker Magnum First Responder is a really cool EDC knife because it comes with a few extra capabilities that could be useful in the right situation.
It has an integrated glass-breaker, seatbelt cutter, and can opener. It also has a cool looking drop point blade and it opens very smoothly.
And as is the case with many knives on my list, it comes in at a low price (You’re probably starting to realize that I like affordable EDC knives).
10. Cold Steel Spartan
Last on the list is the Cold Steel Spartan. I love Cold Steel knives because they are incredibly strong, and the Spartan is probably the strongest EDC knife on my list.
Aside from that, the blade of this knife is incredibly unique! To me, it looks like a mix between a bowie knife, a kukri, and a Kopis.
In fact, both the blade and the handle were inspired by the ancient Greek sword called a Kopis, and that’s probably why it’s called the Spartan.
I think it looks awesome, and the inclusion of the thumb plate makes it quick and easy to deploy.
All in all, it’s a super strong knife that blends a historic sword design into the form of an awesome EDC knife, and the price is pretty reasonable considering the quality.
