Best Red Dot For The Sig P320 [Top 7 List]

/ by
best red dot for sig p320

The Sig P320 is an amazing handgun for several reasons…

It’s reliable, accurate, simple, and easy to shoot…

It’s also easy to mount a red dot on, and that’s actually a trend that is becoming more and more popular because, just as with a rifle, it can help you shoot faster and more accurately…

But with all the handgun optics that are on the market now, what is the best red dot for the Sig P320…?

Well, that’s a question I’ll be answering in this post today, and I’ll be doing that by giving my top 7 list of the best red dot sights for the Sig P320…

By the end, you’ll have a good understanding of the options that are currently available on the market, and you should be able to determine which optic is going to work best for you…

Let’s get started!

Best Red Dot For The Sig P320 – Top 7 List…

The best red dot for the Sig P320 is the Trijicon RMR. The RMR is the best because it’s built to be extremely rugged and reliable. It also has ultra-long battery life, comes in several different reticle options, and can easily be mounted on the P320 with the use of an adapter plate…

The following list will give you more detail as to why the Trijicon RMR is the best red dot sight for the Sig P320…

And I’ll also share with you 6 other handgun red dots that would make for amazing optics on the P320 as well…

1. Trijicon RMR Type 2 (My #1 Pick)

best sights for sig p320

As I mentioned earlier, I think the Trijicon RMR Type 2 is the best optic for the Sig P320. Of all the pistol red dot options that are on the market now, I think the Trijicon RMR is still ‘the king’ and there are many reasons why…

First of all, the Trijicon RMR (which stands for Ruggedized Miniature Reflex sight) is an extremely durable and reliable optic. The sight housing is made from forged aluminum, and it has the patented square-top design (with little horns) that makes it insanely impact resistant for such a small red dot…

On top of that, it’s waterproof in up to 66 feet of water, and it can easily handle the worst rainy or wet conditions you can throw at it. The RMR also has ultra-long battery life (around 4 years worth), large brightness adjustment buttons that are easy to use, and it comes in multiple versions that offer you different reticle sizes and types…

The two most common reticle options are the 3.25 MOA dot and the 6.5 MOA dot. Both are good options, but I prefer the 3.25 MOA dot because it’s very quick and easy for your eye to pick up, but also small enough that it allows you to aim very precisely…

The one downside to mounting an RMR onto your Sig P320 is that most P320’s do not have an optic cut on their slide for the RMR footprint. But even though that’s the case, you can still easily mount the RMR on your P320 with the use of an adapter plate (I recommend this one here)…

So all in all, the Trijicon RMR is super rugged and reliable, has very long battery life, is simple to use, and has a great reticle. I think it’s the best pistol red dot on the market, and it would be a fantastic optic for your Sig P320.

2. Leupold Delta Point Pro

best red dot for sig p320 m17

The second red dot that I think you should consider for your P320 is the Leupold Delta Point Pro. First of all, let me say that this is the best red dot for the Sig P320 M17 model (and the M18), and if you have that version, you should go with the Delta Point Pro over the Trijicon RMR because the M17 was designed by Sig Sauer to be used with the Delta Point Pro…

That being said, even if you don’t have an M17, the Delta Point Pro would be a fantastic red dot for your P320 for several reasons. First of all, the Delta Point Pro is built like a tank. It has a lightweight aluminum sight housing, but it also features a steel shroud that gives extra protection in the place where you need it most, over your optic’s lens…

It’s also waterproof in up to 66 ft of water (just like the Trijicon RMR), and it’s an extremely durable and reliable red dot. In addition to that, it comes with a 2.5 MOA dot reticle which I think is a great size because it’s easy to track and still allows you to aim very precisely, and a very large sight window which allows you to see more when you’re shooting (and that’s always a good thing)…

Now the battery life on the Delta Point Pro is 300 hours. That’s ok, but it’s far below every other red dot on this list. That being said, the Delta Point Pro does have a top-access battery compartment which makes battery changes quick and easy, and it includes motion sensor technology which is designed to help save you a little bit of battery life…

Last, many versions of the Sig P320, including the M17, do come with a slide that’s already cut for the Delta Point Pro footprint, so you probably won’t have to get an adapter plate to mount it on your handgun. And in the end, I think that the optic cut compatibility and the Delta Point Pro’s durability and reliability make it one of the top options for a P320 red dot sight.

3. Sig Sauer Romeo 1 Pro

best sig pistol red dot

Number 3 on this list of the best Sig P320 red dots is a sight that’s actually made by Sig. It’s the Sig Sauer Romeo 1 Pro, and let me tell you why this is a fantastic little handgun optic…

First of all, the Sig Romeo 1 Pro is a well-built red dot. Its sight housing is made from aircraft grade aluminum, and it’s waterproof in up to 1 meter of water. That being said, on its own, it’s not the most durable handgun optic, and I wouldn’t recommend it for tough use. However, Sig recognized this, and the Romeo 1 Pro actually comes with a protective steel shroud that you can mount over your sight…

This transforms the optic into an extremely rugged handgun red dot, and makes it a very good option even if you intend to use your P320 as a duty pistol. In addition to that, the Sig Romeo Pro 1 has very long battery life (around 20,000 hours worth), and Sig’s MOTAC (Motion Activated Illumination) technology which means the sight will automatically turn off when it’s not in use and automatically turn on when it senses motion. This feature saves you battery life, and I’ve found that it works very well because the sight turns on easily as soon as I grab my gun…

On top of all that, the sight window that comes on the Romeo 1 Pro is very large and gives you a wide field of view when you’re aiming, and it can be had with either a 3 MOA dot reticle or a 6 MOA dot reticle. I prefer dots in the 2-3.5 size range because I find them to be easy to track and very easy to aim precisely, so I prefer the 3 MOA dot version…

Last, because this is a Sig red dot, it’s going to be compatible with your P320 if it comes from the factory optics ready. So you won’t need an adapter plate to mount it onto your handgun slide. So all in all, I think it’s a quality optic, and pairing a Sig optic with a Sig P320 is always going to be a good option.

4. Trijicon SRO

sig p320 x carry red dot compatibility

Another amazing pistol optic that you should consider for your P320 is the Trijicon SRO. To begin, the SRO is a very rugged and reliable optic. It has a sight housing that’s constructed from 7075-T6 Aluminum, and it’s waterproof in up to 10 feet of water. Now, because it has a different sight housing design than the RMR, it’s not quite as durable. But keep in mind that it’s still a Trijicon, so it’s still more rugged than most other red dots…

In addition to that, it’s actually better than the RMR in one key area… It has a larger sight window. Now as I mentioned earlier, this is an important feature because it gives you a larger field of view when you’re aiming, and seeing more is extremely helpful when you’re trying to shoot fast and accurately…

The SRO also has ultra-long battery life (around 3 years worth) and a top-loading battery, which is very convenient because you can quickly and easily change the battery out when you need to (with the RMR you have to remove the optic from your slide to change out the battery)…

Last, you can get the Trijicon SRO with a 2.5 MOA (minute of angle) dot reticle, a 5 MOA dot reticle, or a 1 MOA dot reticle, and as I said earlier, my preference would be the 2.5 MOA dot because it offers the best balance between tracking the dot and aiming precisely. Now just as with the RMR you probably will need an adapter plate to mount the SRO on your P320 slide (I recommend this one), but overall, the SRO is an amazing handgun red dot and would be a great optic for the Sig P320.

5. Holosun HE508T-X2

holosun red dot for sig p320

I love Holosun red dots. To me, they offer the best bang for your buck because they’re loaded with useful features but still remain at an affordable price point. That’s certainly the case with the Holosun 508T, and I think it’s another fantastic red dot that would be a great optic for your P320…

To start off with, the Holosun 508T is an extremely rugged and reliable sight. It actually rivals the Trijicon RMR in this area because its sight housing is made from titanium rather than aluminum. In addition to that, it has a square top shape, which Holosun has found to be more impact resistant than a rounded shape, and it’s waterproof in up to 1 meter of water…

On top of that, the 508T has Holosun’s Multiple Reticle System which means you get 3 reticle options included with the sight. The 3 reticles are a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle, and the Holosun Circle Dot Reticle which is my favorite because it helps you shoot extremely fast and accurately…

The Holosun 508T also has ultra-long battery life (around 50,000 hours worth), Shake Awake technology (which saves you battery life), an easy-access side-loading battery tray (which allows you to change the battery without removing the sight from your slide), and a Solar Panel on top (which allows you to use the sight even without a battery)…

Last, because this is the X2 model of the 508T, you can lock out the brightness buttons so that they don’t accidentally get pushed and go way up or way down, and because it shares the same footprint as the RMR, you should be able to mount it onto your Sig P320 slide with the use of an adapter plate (I recommend this one)…

All in all, the Holosun 508T is an extremely rugged and reliable optic, it has fantastic reticle options, it’s loaded with other features that are useful to you as the shooter, and it can easily be mounted on to the Sig P320 with the use of an adapter plate.

6. Holosun HS507C-X2 (Best Budget Option!)

best red dot for sig p320 x5 legion

I told you earlier that I love Holosun, and I couldn’t resist the urge to put another one on this list. The Holosun 507C is fast becoming a legendary handgun optic, and I firmly believe that it’s the best budget optic for the Sig P320…

The 507C is a fantastic red dot for several reasons. First of all, even though its sight housing is constructed from 7075-T6 Aluminum rather than the titanium found on the Holosun 508T, it’s still a very rugged and reliable optic. You can see in the picture just how thick the Aluminum housing is, and that certainly adds a great deal of toughness to this little sight…

In addition to that, the 507C is waterproof in up to 1 meter of water, and even though it’s probably a little less rugged than the 508T, it’s an extremely popular pistol red dot sight and has developed a solid reputation for ruggedness and reliability…

On top of all that, the 507C comes with the Holosun’s Multiple Reticle System so you get a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle, and the Holosun Circle Dot Reticle included with it (again, the Circle Dot is my favorite because it helps you shoot fast and accurately)…

And just as with the 508T, it comes with ultra-long battery life (around 50,000 hours), Shake Awake technology to save you battery life, A Solar Panel that allows you to use the sight without a battery, and a side-loading battery tray which allows for quick and easy battery changes when the time comes…

Now, just as with the Trijicon RMR, the SRO, and the Holosun 508T, you will probably have to use an adapter plate to mount the 507C onto your P320 (I recommend this one), but all in all, you can’t beat the ruggedness, reliability, and affordability that the Holosun 507C has to offer!

7. Crimson Trace RAD Pro

what red dot sights fit sig p320 m18

The last optic on this list of amazing red dots for the P320 is the Crimson Trace RAD Pro. As of the time that I’m writing this, this is a very new red dot on the market, and I think it’s very exciting for several reasons…

First of all, like all the other sights on this list, the RAD Pro is a very rugged and reliable red dot sight. It has a sight housing that’s made from 7075 Aluminum, and it also has a square top shape that is designed with specific angles to make the optic more impact resistant. On top of that, it’s waterproof in up to 1 meter of water, and I think it looks really sleek and cool (which is important to me haha!)…

The Rad Pro also has ultra-long battery life of around 40,000 hours, an auto shut off feature, a shake to wake feature (which will help save you battery life), and a top accessible battery compartment that makes battery changes fast and painless…

Additionally, the RAD Pro comes with a 3 MOA dot reticle which is right in the 2-3.5 range that I prefer, and because it features the Docter footprint you’ll probably need an adapter plate to mount it onto your P320 slide (you can find one here)…

All in all, the Crimson Trace Rad Pro is a super exciting handgun optic. I expect it to be a very popular option in the market very soon, and if you want to get in before the big rush, I think it would make for a fantastic red dot on the Sig P320.

Best MK18 Upper Clone [Top 7 List]

/ by
mk18 upper clone

I’ve always found retro guns and clones of current military carbines to be really cool…

I love my old Colt LE6920, and the MK18 has been on my radar for a while now…

Because of that, I’ve been analyzing (for several months now) several options that I think would make for the best MK18 upper clone

And in this post, I want to share with you some of the most exciting options that I’ve found for both the MK18 Mod 1 and the MK18 Mod 0…

By the end, you’ll have a solid understanding of the options that are currently out there, and you should have all the information you need to determine which is going to be best for your MK18 clone…

Let’s begin!

Best MK18 Upper Clone – Top 7 List…

The best MK18 upper clone is the Daniel Defense MK18 5.56 Complete Upper Receiver Group. It’s the best because it features the very distinctive Daniel Defense MK18 RIS II quad rail which is the actual rail used on the real MK18 Mod 1, and all the other components of this upper meet or exceed military specifications for durability and reliability…

The following will give you more information explaining why the Daniel Defense MK18 Upper is the best upper clone, but I’ll also share with you 6 other options you can consider if you want to build a MK18 clone…

1. Daniel Defense MK18 5.56 Complete Upper Receiver Group (My #1 Pick!)

mk18 mod 0 vs mod 1

If your goal is to build a MK18 Mod 1 clone, then the absolute best option available to you is the Daniel Defense MK18 5.56 Complete Upper Receiver Group. As I mentioned earlier, there are several reasons why this is the best option to go with…

First of all, if you’re trying to create a MK18 Mod 1 clone, then you simply must include the Daniel Defense RIS II handguard. This is the handguard used on real MK18s, and it makes for a very distinctive (and cool) look. Aside from just coming with the RIS II handguard, the complete MK18 upper from Daniel Defense makes a lot of sense for many other reasons…

At this point, we all know that Daniel Defense makes extremely high quality AR 15s and AR parts, and that rings true with this complete upper which includes a Daniel Defense upper receiver (which mates perfectly with the RIS II rail), all Daniel Defense upper receiver parts (which are all mil-spec), a Daniel Defense flash suppresser (which is an upgrade over a standard A2 birdcage), and a mil-spec, M16 profile BCG (Bolt Carrier Group) which is chrome-lined and has a properly staked gas key…

mk18 clone parts list

On top of all that, you get an extremely high quality Daniel Defense barrel, which is 10.3 inches long (just like the real MK18), made from Chrome Moly Vanadium Steel, is chrome-lined, and features a 1:7 twist. It’s also cold hammer forged, so it’s extremely strong, and because it’s such a high-quality barrel, it’s also very accurate…

Once you get the Daniel Defense MK18 complete upper, all you have to do is stick in on a solid mil-spec lower (make sure to follow all current laws because the barrel length is under 16 inches), and your MK18 clone will pretty much be complete!

Daniel Defense MK18 Stripped Upper Receiver w/ Handguard Only…

mk18 mod 1 clone

If you like most of what the Daniel Defense Complete MK18 upper includes, but you’d like to save some money and customize your build a little more, the Daniel Defense MK18 Stripped Upper is another great option…

This stripped upper gets you most of the way to a MK18 Mod 1 clone. With it, you get the RIS II handguard which as I mentioned before is an absolute must. But you also get the Daniel Defense milspec upper, and that super high quality 10.3 Daniel Defense barrel…

All you need to do to finish this upper is to pick up a muzzle device (of which there are tons of great options), a bolt carrier group, and a charging handle. You can save money in these areas by going with basic (but still high quality parts), or you can upgrade these parts for more performance (go here if you’d like to see some really cool AR 15 accessories that I recommend)…

So as I said, this is a great option for a MK18 clone if you want to save a bit of money or if you want to customize your clone in a few key areas.

Daniel Defense MK18 Rail Interface System (RIS) II

mk18 mod 3 upper

Before moving on to number 2 on the list, I want to share with you a final option for building an accurate MK18 Mod 1 clone. You can simply get the Daniel Defense MK18 RIS II handguard and either build from scratch or put it on a pre-built upper receiver and barrel set of your choice…

I love Daniel Defense rails in general, but in my opinion, they’ve made the absolute best quad rails on the market for several years. The MK18 RIS II is one of the premier handguards that you can get, and like I said, if you want to build a MK18 Mod 1 clone from scratch, just get the rail and all the other upper receiver parts that you need.

2. PSA 10.5″ 5.56 NATO 1/7″ Phosphate Upper

mk18 surplus upper

If you’re looking to go ‘old school’ with your MK18 clone and want to create a Mod 0, then I think the PSA 10.5″ 5.56 NATO 1:7 Twist Phosphate Upper is a fantastic option for many reasons…

First of all, I love Palmetto State Armory. They’re famous for producing AR 15s and AR parts that are both high quality and affordable at the same time. That’s certainly the case with this PSA 10.5 inch upper, and I think that you could pick this up, attach it to a good quality lower (like this one from PSA), and instantly have yourself a reliable and very cool looking MK18 Mod 0 clone…

This upper is cool because it has a front sight post which is F-Marked and correct for the MK18 Mod 0, and it has a 10.5 inch barrel which I think is the correct length for the Mod 0. And that barrel is actually very high quality. It’s made from Chrome Moly Vanadium steel, features a 1:7 twist rate, and has an extremely durable Phosphate coating…

This upper also features a carbine-length gas system, and it comes with an A2 flashhider and the classic-looking military-styled handguards. Last, if you go with this upper, you will need to pick up a Bolt Carrier Group and a charging handle, but you can easily do that by going here for a solid Bolt Carrier Group and going here for a quality charging handle

All in all, this is a wonderful upper for a MK18 Mod 0 clone because the parts that you get are high-quality, and it’s also a fairly affordable upper which is always something that I like to see.

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The PSA 10.5″ 5.56 NATO 1/7″ Phosphate Upper:

Daniel Defense AR-15 Omega Rail (7 inch – Carbine Length)…

mk18 rail clone

One of the ways to make the PSA 10.5″ upper an even better MK18 Mod 0 clone is to add a drop in quad rail, and my favorite drop in quad rail is, by far, the Daniel Defense Omega Rail…

I have this rail on my Colt LE6920, and I love it for several reasons. First of all, it’s very strong and allows you to mount a light, vertical foregrip, and a number of other accessories onto your AR 15. In addition to that, Daniel Defense does a great job designing their quad rails to be really lightweight…

And they also designed this rail to be fairly narrow when you grip it. This is kind of unusual when it comes to quad rails, and it makes this rail much more ergonomic than other fat, bulky quad rails that I’ve used in the past.

All in all, I think adding the 7-inch carbine length Omega rail to the PSA 10.5 inch upper would really be a home run if you’re looking to create a MK 18 Mod 0 clone!

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The Daniel Defense AR-15 Omega Rail:

Midwest Industries Gen 2 Drop-In Handguard (7 Inch – Carbine Length)…

mk18 rail length

Another great quad rail option that you can use with the PSA 10.5″ upper to finish off your MK18 Mod 0 clone is the Midwest Industries Gen 2 Drop-In Handguard…

This is also a very strong drop in quad rail. In addition to that, it’s easy to install and will make your MK18 clone look really badass. On top of that, it’s a fairly lightweight quad rail, and it’s not an overly fat and bulky rail, so it will feel good in your hand…

Like the Daniel Defense Omega rail, this is a fantastic drop in quad rail that you can consider for a MK18 Mod 0 clone build. The major difference is that it comes in at a more affordable price point than the DD Omega rail.

3. PSA 10.5″ 5.56 Lightweight M-LOK Upper (With MBUS Sights, BCG, CH, & Fluted Flash Can)

mk18 rail length

Ok, so if you’re willing to be a little less rigid with your MK18 clone, the rest of the options on this list will be very interesting to you, and I have to say, this PSA 10.5″ Upper with an MLOK rail and a flash can would make for a super badass ‘MK18-inspired’ AR 15…

I love this upper because like I mentioned earlier, Palmetto State Armory produces fantastic AR 15 parts, and they do so at an affordable price. And the great thing about this upper in particular is that it’s loaded with everything you need right out of the box and has some really unique features as well…

First of all, with this upper, you get a very high-quality 10.5″ barrel that’s made from 4150V Chrome Moly Vanadium steel. In addition to that, you get an MLOK rail which is going to be very comfortable to grasp and allow you to mount MLOK accessories where ever you’d like to. You also get that very unique flash can which kind of mimics a suppressor without actually being one, and it really sets this upper apart in terms of how cool it looks…

On top of all that, you get Magpul MBUS back up sights included with this upper, and you get a milspec, M16 profile bolt carrier group, and charging handle. So all you have to do is attach this to a quality AR pistol lower, and you’ve got yourself a super unique ‘MK18 sized’ AR 15 that is going to be more lightweight and perhaps a little more ergonomic than a more ‘correct’ MK18 clone.

4. Aero Precision M4E1 10.5″ 5.56 Complete Upper Receiver w/ ATLAS S-ONE Handguard

mk18 mod 2

Another one of my favorite manufacturers when it comes to AR-15s and AR parts is Aero Precision. Like PSA, they also make high quality products and keep their prices very reasonable in my opinion, and that’s exactly what they’ve done with the M4E1 10.5″ Complete Upper Receiver with the Atlas S-One Handguard…

Again, if your goal is to build a ‘correct’ MK18 Mod 1 or Mod 0 clone, then this upper isn’t the one for you, but if you just like the size and concept of a 10.5 inch AR 15, this is a great option to consider for many reasons. For starters, this upper comes with a very high-quality 10.5 inch barrel which is made from Chrome Moly Vanadium steel and has a 1:7 twist rate…

In addition to that, the Aero Precision upper receiver has a very cool ‘billet look’ to it even though it’s actually forged (which makes it stronger and more lightweight). On top of all that, the most unique feature that you get with this upper is the 9 inch ATLAS S-One which I think is an amazing handguard.

It looks very cool in my opinion, but by removing some of the Picatinny railing at the top of the handguard, you end up with a lighter AR 15 and an extremely ergonomic and comfortable handguard. On top of that, you still have railing on top where you need it for back up iron sights, and because it’s an MLOK handguard, you can put MLOK rails for accessories anywhere in the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions…

All in all, I love this little upper because it looks amazing and offers you some extremely useful features at the same time.

5. PSA 10.5″ 5.56 NATO 1:7 Phosphate 9″ Lightweight M-LOK Upper (With BCG & CH)

mk18 clone rifles

Another fantastic upper for a ‘MK18 sized’ AR 15 is the PSA 10.5 inch Lightweight M-LOK Upper. Again this is a great option if you want a modern style AR 15 that comes in the compact size of the MK18…

This upper is awesome because the barrel is very high-quality. Its made from a very strong material (Chrome Moly Vanadium steel), and it also has a 1:7 twist rate and a Phosphate coating, which makes it incredibly durable. I also really like the M-Lok handguard that comes with this upper because it’s slim and comfortable to hold when you’re shooting, it’s lightweight, and it still allows you to mount accessories in practically any position you’d like to…

On top of all that, this upper comes with a very high-quality bolt carrier group (that has an M16 profile and is made from Carpenter 158 steel). It comes with a charging handle, and it comes in at an incredibly affordable price point. So again, all you have to do is pin it onto your AR pistol lower and you’ve got a very compact AR 15 that is lightweight and reliable.

6. Aero Precision M4E1 10.5″ 5.56 Complete Upper Receiver w/ ATLAS R-ONE Handguard

clone rifle upper

Well, I told you that I love Aero Precision AR 15s, so it should be no surprise that I put a second upper on this list for your consideration. I think the M4E1 complete upper with the ATLAS R-One Handguard is another amazing option for a ‘MK18-sized’ AR 15…

Again, Aero Precision makes extremely high quality AR parts, and just as with the earlier M4E1 upper that I put on this list, with this upper you get an extremely high-quality 10.5 inch barrel, the forged ‘billet look’ Aero Precision upper, and an Aero Precision handguard, except this time you’re getting the ATLAS R-One handguard rather than the ATLAS S-One…

I bet you can spot the difference just by looking at the picture… That’s right, with the ATLAS R-One handguard you still get a comfortable place to grip and M-LOK slots for accessories in the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions, but you also get a full Picatinny rail across the top of your handguard…

So if you like all of the features that the Aero Precision M4E1 upper has to offer, but you want the full top rail on your handguard for BUIS (back up iron sights), lasers, pressure pads, and/or other accessories, then you also have this amazing option available to you!

7. PSA 10.5″ 5.56 NATO 1/7″ Phosphate MOE Upper (With BCG & CH)

m4 clone upper

The last upper I have for your consideration is the PSA 10.5″ MOE Complete Upper. This is a very similar upper to the MK18 Mod 0 clone upper that I placed earlier on this list…

Again, this upper gives you a very high quality barrel that is 10.5 inches, made from Chrome Moly Vanadium steel, and comes with a 1:7 twist. It also comes with an F-Marked front sight post and a standard A2 flash hider. On top of all that, it comes ready to go with a quality bolt carrier group that features an M16 Profile and is made from Carpenter 158 steel, and it comes with a charging handle…

So what sets this upper apart? Well, it comes with a Magpul MOE handguard which is a handguard that I personally like because its extremely comfortable in your hand, it has internal heat shields (so you don’t burn your hand when shooting multiple magazines), and it has M-LOK attachments, so you can mount a weapon light, a vertical foregrip, or any other accessories onto it that you’d like to…

So this is another great option for a ‘MK18-sized’ AR 15 because it’s simple, reliable, compact, and ready to go right out of the box!

Best Ruger 57 Red Dot [Top 8 List]…

/ by
ruger 57 red dot

There aren’t many firearms that are chambered in the 5.7x28mm cartridge…

And that’s a shame because it’s a very interesting cartridge for several reasons…

The Ruger 57 is only the second handgun I can think of that is chambered for this round, and I have to say, Ruger did a great job designing this gun because it’s fun to shoot, low-recoiling, accurate and reliable…

In addition to that, Ruger actually made it very easy to mount an optic on your 57 (even without the addition of an optic cut)…

And in this article, we’re going to address questions like… What is the best Ruger 57 red dot? And how do you mount a red dot on the 57?

So if you’re interested in putting a red dot sight on your Ruger 57, you’ve come to the right place…

And by the end, you’ll have all the information you need to determine which red dot is going to be best for you, and you’ll know exactly how to mount it…

Let’s get started!

Ruger 57 Red Dot – Top 8 List…

The best Ruger 57 red dot is the Trijicon RMR. The reason why is because it’s an extremely rugged and reliable red dot sight. It also has ultra-long battery life and multiple reticle options, and it can easily be mounted on the Ruger 57 with the use of an adapter plate…

The following list will give you more information on why the Trijicon RMR makes such a good pair with the Ruger 57, and I’ll also give you 7 other fantastic red dots that you can consider for your gun…

1. Trijicon RMR Type 2 (My #1 Pick!)

ruger 57 optic ready

As I said earlier, I think the Trijicon RMR Type 2 is the best red dot for the Ruger 57 handgun, and the reason why is simple… It’s the best optic for any handgun that’s currently on the market…

RMR actually stands for ‘Ruggedized Miniature Reflex’ sight, and Trijicon designed it to be a super-small optic that maintains an extremely high level of toughness. Now, the RMR has a sight housing that’s made from forged aluminum, and it’s designed with Trijicon’s patented ‘square-top’ design which makes the sight more durable and impact-resistant…

It’s also waterproof in up to 66 feet of water, gives you ultra-long battery life (around 4 years worth on setting 4), and because it’s the Type 2 version, it has upgraded electronics that make it extremely reliable when mounted on a handgun slide (the Type 1’s were designed for use on rifles and had some problems when mounted on handguns)…

In addition to that, the RMR comes in several different versions that give you a different reticle dot size. The two most common versions are the 3.25 MOA dot version and the 6.5 MOA dot version. Of the two, I prefer the 3.25 MOA dot version because I find that a smaller dot is typically just as easy to see as a larger dot, but offers you more precision when aiming…

Now to get any of these optics onto your Ruger 57, you simply need an adapter mount that attaches to the top of your slide with two screws (This is a high-quality adapter mount that you can use). But all in all, I think the Trijicon RMR is a fantastic optic for your Ruger 57 because it’s super tough, reliable, has long battery life, and has a good-sized reticle.

2. Holosun HE508T-X2

ruger 57 holosun

Another amazing red dot sight that you should consider for your Ruger 57 is the Holosun 508T X2. I love Holosun optics because they are jam-packed with useful features and they’re priced pretty reasonably…

And that’s certainly the case with the Holosun 508T which I think rivals the Trijicon RMR when it comes to toughness. For starters, the ‘T’ in 508T actually stands for titanium, which is what the sight housing of this optic is made from. That means it’s extremely strong while, at the same time, being incredibly lightweight. It also has a ‘square top’ design that Holosun has found to be stronger than a round top design, and it’s waterproof in up to 1 meter of water…

The 508T also comes with Holosun’s Multiple Reticle System which gives you 3 reticles choices on your sight including: a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle, and the famous Holosun Circle Dot Reticle, which is my favorite because it helps you shoot fast and accurately at the same time. On top of that, the 508T has ultra-long battery life (around 50,000 hours on setting 6), Shake Awake technology (which helps save your battery life), a Solar Panel (which you can use to save even more battery life), and a side-access battery tray…

And that battery tray means that you can swap out batteries on your 508T quickly and easily without the need to remove the optic from your slide. That’s something you’ll have to do if you go with the Trijicon RMR (one of its very few downsides), and it’s an area where the 508T shines. The last thing to mention is that you will need an adapter plate to mount the Holosun 508T on your Ruger 57 (you can get one right here), and I think it would make a wonderful optic for this Ruger handgun design because it’s tough, reliable, and loaded with cool features.

3. Trijicon SRO

ruger 57 sight plate

The Trijicon SRO is another miniature red dot sight that would be a fantastic fit for the Ruger 57. Now, I know I’ve already shown you an optic from Trijicon with the RMR, but the SRO is a little different in a few key areas…

First of all, SRO stands for ‘Specialized Reflex Optic’ and one of its greatest features is the huge sight window that it gives you. This allows you to have a greater field of view when looking through the optic, and seeing more is always a good thing when it comes to shooting accurately and fast. Now having that large sight window, does sacrifice a little bit of durability with the SRO, but it’s still a Trijicon optic, which means it’s going to be plenty durable for most applications…

For example, its sight housing is made from 7075-T6 Aluminum, and it’s waterproof in up to 10 feet of water. On top of the huge sight window, the lens is very clear on the SRO, and you can choose between multiple versions that feature different dot reticle sizes including: a 2.5 MOA dot, a 5 MOA dot, or a 1 MOA dot…

I like my reticles to be somewhere in the 2-3.5 MOA range because I find them to be very easy for your eye to pick up and still extremely precise when aiming, but it’s good that Trijicon offers various versions because some people have different dot size preferences. Last, just like with all other red dots on this list, you will need an adapter to mount this optic on your Ruger 57 (you can get one here), but I think the SRO is a great red dot for any handgun because it’s tough, reliable, and has a massive sight window.

4. Holosun HS507C-X2

green dot sight for ruger 57

I get accused of being a Holosun fanboy all the time, and you know what… I am! Holosun makes high-quality red dots that are loaded with features and that still come in at a reasonable price, and the Holosun 507C is by-far their most popular pistol optic…

There are many reasons why you should consider the 507C as a contender for a place on your Ruger 57. For starters, the 507C is very similar to the 508T, but instead of being constructed from titanium, its sight housing is made from 7075-T6 Aluminum (which is still a very durable material). It’s also waterproof in up to 1 meter of water, and even though it’s probably a bit less rugged than the RMR and the 508T, the 507C has a reputation and a long track record for toughness and reliability…

It also has the Holosun Mulitple Reticle System which means you get 3 reticles programmed into it including a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle, and the Holosun Circle Dot Reticle (which, again, is my favorite because it makes it so easy to shoot fast and accurately). And it also has ultra-long battery life (around 50,000 hours on setting 6), a Solar Panel to save your battery life (or use without a battery), and a battery tray that makes battery changes quick, simple, and fast…

Last, it can be easily mounted onto the Ruger 57 with the use of an adapter plate (here’s where you can get one), and because it’s made from Aluminum rather than Titanium, it’s a less expensive option than the Holosun 508T. All in all, the Holosun 507C would make a fantastic red dot for the Ruger 57.

5. Leupold Delta Point Pro

ruger-57 optic plate amazon

Another legendary handgun optic that would be a great companion for the Ruger 57 is the Leupold Delta Point Pro. First of all, the Delta Point Pro is built for rugged use. Its sight housing is made from a high-quality aluminum and the sight window features a spring steel shroud for extra protection…

It’s also waterproof in up to 33 feet of water, and similarly to the Trijicon SRO, the Delta Point Pro features a huge sight window, which as I mentioned before gives you a larger field of view when you’re shooting. The battery life on the Delta Point Pro is 300 hours, which is not nearly as high as some of the other optics on this list, but battery changes are very quick and easy because of the spring-actuated battery compartment. It’s located on top of the Delta Point Pro’s sight housing, so you won’t have to remove the sight from your gun’s slide for battery changes either…

Last, the reticle on the Delta Point Pro is 2.5 MOA (minute of angle) which is perfect for me, and as with all the other optics on this list it can be easily mounted on the Ruger 57 slide with the use of an adapter plate (you can get one here). If you don’t mind the battery life, the Delta Point Pro is a very rugged red dot that gives you a huge sight window to aim through.

6. Sig Sauer Romeo 3XL

sig romeo for ruger 57

Many people might not realize it, but Sig Sauer actually makes some pretty cool red dot sights, and one of their best handgun optics is definitely the Romeo 3XL. The sight would go well with your Ruger 57 for a number of reasons…

To begin, the sight housing on the Romeo 3XL is made from aircraft-grade aluminum, and it’s waterproof in up to 1 meter of water. So it’s a pretty durable optic. In addition to that, it gives you 25,000 hours of battery life, and it features Sig’s MOTAC technology which stands for ‘Motion Activated Illumination’ and basically saves you battery life by automatically turning off when the sight is not in use and automatically turning on when the sight senses motion…

One of the biggest benefits that the Romeo 3XL has to offer is the enormous sight window. Some describe it by saying it’s like looking through a windshield, and it gives you a massive field of view when you’re trying to take aim. Last, you can get the Romeo 3XL with either a 3 MOA dot reticle or a 6 MOA dot reticle (I prefer the 3 MOA dot), and it can easily be mounted onto your Ruger 57 with the use of an adapter plate (you can get one here). All in all, the Sig Sauer Romeo XL is not a red dot that a lot of people talk about, but it’s a fantastic little handgun optic.

7. Vortex Venom

ruger 57 red dot vortex

Vortex is another manufacturer that is known for making high-quality optics that are competitively priced, and one of their most popular handgun optics is the Vortex Venom…

The Vortex Venom would be a good little red dot for the Ruger 57 for a number of reasons. Even though it’s not the toughest optic on this list, it is still durable enough to be used for most applications. It features an aluminum sight housing, and it’s waterproof in up to 1 meter of water. It’s also shockproof and fogproof, and as long as it’s not taking heavy impacts (such as being dropped), it should hold up just fine…

It also has a fairly long battery life of up to 30,000 hours on the low settings, and battery changes are quick, easy, and don’t require you to remove the optic from your gun’s slide because of a top-access battery compartment. The Venom also has two different MOA dot size versions, the 3 MOA dot reticle version and the 6 MOA dot reticle version, and as you know by now, I prefer the 3 MOA dot version because I find it easy to pick up and very precise when I need to focus on accurate shots…

Last, Ruger actually makes a factory adapter plate for the Vortex Venom (you can find it here), and for a long time, it was one of the only red dots that you could mount on the Ruger 57. So it deserves a place on this list, and because it’s kind of a budget optic, I think it’s still a good option.

8. Crimson Trace RAD Pro

ruger 57 burris fastfire 3

The Crimson Trace RAD Pro is a very exciting handgun optic. As of the time I’m writing this, it’s a fairly new optic on the market, and it’s already getting a lot of fanfare. I think it’s going to become an extremely popular red dot sight, and I think there are several reasons why it would make a fantastic optic for the Ruger 57…

To begin, the RAD Pro is built to be rugged and reliable. It has a sight housing that’s constructed from 7075 Aluminum, and it has a square-top shape with specific angles that are designed to make the optic very impact resistant. It’s also waterproof in up to one meter of water, and I just think it’s really freakin’ cool looking…

Additionally, its also shockproof, fogproof, and vibration resistant, and it has super long battery life (around 40,000 hours). On top of that, the RAD Pro has a top-access battery compartment, so that you won’t have to remove the optic from your Ruger’s slide when the time for a battery change does come…

Last, the RAD Pro has an auto-sleep function which will help you save battery life, and it can easily be mounted onto the Ruger 57 with the use of an adapter plate (you can get one right here). All in all, I think there’s a very bright future ahead for the RAD Pro red dot, and I also think it would be a high-performing optic for the Ruger 57.

Best Glock 43X MOS Red Dot [Top 7 List]

/ by
glock 43x mos red dot

You can’t go wrong with a Glock…

It’s such an iconic handgun design, and it’s proven itself to be simple, reliable, and easy to shoot over the span of several years now…

And with the introduction of the Glock 43X MOS, Glock has given us consumers a ‘high capacity’ slimline gun, that’s optic ready and that can easily be used for concealed carry…

But what is the best Glock 43X MOS red dot that you can get? What optics can you actually put on your 43X?

Well in this article, I’m going to share with you the 7 best red dot sights that you can mount on your Glock 43X MOS…

And by the end, you’ll know exactly what options are out there, and you should have all the information you need to determine which optic is going to work best for you…

Let’s begin!

Glock 43X MOS Red Dot – Top 7 List…

The best Glock 43X MOS red dot is the Holosun 507K X2. It’s the best because it’s a rugged and reliable optic. In addition to that, it’s packed with useful features (like 3 reticle options and ultra-long battery life), and it’s also fairly affordable. The only downside is that you will need an adapter plate to mount it on the Glock 43X MOS…

The following will give you more detail discussing why the Holosun 507K is the best optic for the Glock 43X…

And I’ll also share with you 6 other fantastic red dots that’ll pair well with this amazing little Glock…

1. Holosun HS507K-X2 (My #1 Pick!)

glock 43x mos holosun 507k

Let me tell you a little story… There once was a guy who lived in Las Vegas. He carried a Glock 19 during the winter and a Glock 43X during the summer. On his Glock 19, he mounted a Holosun 507C, and on his Glock 43X he mounted a Holosun 507K X2

Why am I telling you this? Because that guy is me! I conceal carry a Glock 43X, I mounted a Holosun 507K on it, And I love it! So my first recommendation to you is the red dot that I’ve chosen to put on my personal 43X…

No here’s why I think the 507K is the best red dot for the Glock 43X, the Glock 48, the Springfield Hellcat, the Sig P365, the M&P Shield, the Canik TP9 SC, and basically all other slimline, concealed carry handguns. First of all, the 507K is built to be very rugged and reliable. The sight housing is made from 7075-T6 Aluminum, and it has a square-top design which has been proven to make the sight more robust if it gets dropped on the ground or heavily impacted…

The 507K also has Holosun’s Multiple Reticle System which means that you can switch between 3 reticle choices including, a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle, and the Holosun Circle Dot (which is my favorite because it helps you shoot fast and accurately). On top of that, the 507K has super long battery life (around 50,000 hours on setting 6), Shake Awake technology (which saves you a ton of battery life), and the battery can be changed without having to remove the optic from your 43X’s slide (which is incredibly annoying)…

You also get a back up rear sight that is built into the 507K’s sight housing, and because it’s the X2 version, you can lock all the buttons which will prevent you from accidentally turning your reticle brightness way up or way down while you’re concealed carrying. The only downside is that the Glock 43 MOS comes with an optic cut for the RMSc, and the 507K footprint is a little bit different. There are ways you can modify your slide, but the easier method for mounting a 507K on your Glock 43X MOS is to simply get an adapter plate (you can get one right here)…

So all in all, I highly recommend the Holosun 507K. It’s what I own and use on my Glock 43X, and it’s been fantastic.

2. Shield RMSc

shield rmsc glock 43x mos

The Shield RMSc is also a great red dot for the Glock 43X. As I mentioned above, the Glock 43X MOS comes with a slide that is cut for the RMSc footprint. And that footprint has become the most common footprint in this new super small sized optic class. So the Shield RMSc (the ‘c’ stands for compact) will fit perfectly on top of the Glock 43X MOS slide without the need for an adapter plate…

On top of that, the Shield RMSc is a pretty rugged little sight. It’s not as rugged as the Holosun 507K or some of the other options that I’ll show you on this list, but as you can see when you look at the picture, it has those distinctive support rails along both sides of the housing which add strength and rigidity to the optic. And they make this sight plenty durable enough for concealed carry…

Also, the Shield RMSc is a ‘permanently on’ optic. So it will automatically adjust to the ambient lighting conditions that you’re shooting in, and you can also get it in a few different versions. For example, you can get the RMSc with a 4 MOA (minute of angle) dot reticle or an 8 MOA dot reticle (4 would be my preference because it gives you more precision when aiming). And you can also get it with a polymer lens or a glass lens depending on how you personally want to balance lens strength against lens clarity.

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The Shield RMSc:

3. Crimson Trace RAD Micro Pro

glock 43x mos red dot for sale

Another very exciting red dot that will pair perfectly with the Glock 43X MOS is the Crimson Trace RAD Micro Pro. At the time I’m writing this, the RAD Micro Pro is a brand new optic being offered by Crimson Trace, and I think its an extremely exciting little red dot for several reasons…

First of all, the RAD Micro Pro is built to be very durable and reliable. It’s made from Aerospace aluminum, and it has a squared-off top that also has built-in angles to make it more impact-resistant. It also has large, easy-to-use brightness buttons on the side of the sight housing, and I personally think it looks really cool…

On top of that, the RAD Micro Pro has very long battery life (around 10,000 hours), and it features a 3 MOA dot reticle which I like because I find that dots in the 2-3.5 MOA size range offer more precision when I’m aiming. The RAD Micro Pro is also waterproof, shockproof, and fogproof, and it also features the RMSc footprint. So you can mount it directly on your Glock 43X MOS slide without the need for an adapter plate.

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The Crimson Trace RAD Micro Pro:

4. Swampfox Sentinel

glock 43x mos red dot compatibility

The Swampfox Sentinel is another great red dot that you should consider for your Glock 43X. To start off with, this little red dot also features the RMSc footprint. So just as with the Shield RMSc and the Crimson Trace RAD Micro Pro, you can mount it directly onto your 43X MOS slide without any modification or the need for an adapter plate…

Aside from that, the Sentinal is built to a high standard which makes it reliable, and it’s also fairly durable. Now, it’s not as durable as the Holosun 507K, but I think it’s certainly durable enough for concealed carry. And if you have any concerns about the durability, you can actually get a steel cover that goes around the Sentinel while it’s mounted on your gun…

The Sentinal also comes with a 3 MOA dot reticle, which as I mentioned earlier is a size I personally like for precision when aiming, and the battery life is ultra-long as well (you can actually keep this optic turned on for 2 years if you want to)…

Last, the Sentinel comes in two versions, an automatic brightness adjustment version, and a manual brightness adjustment version. I personally prefer manual brightness adjustment on my red dot sights because it just gives you a bit more control over your optic setup in general, but a lot of people really enjoy the automatic brightness technology that the Sentinel features as well.

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The Swampfox Sentinel:

5. Hex Wasp

glock 43x red dot slide

Another fantastic little red dot that you can mount on your Glock 43X MOS is the Hex Wasp. Now the Wasp is actually designed to go with one of the Glock 43X’s chief rivals, the Springfield Hellcat. But it does feature a Shield RMSc footprint and can easily be mounted directly onto the 43X MOS slide without an adapter plate…

The Wasp is also a very well-built and rugged little red dot. Its sight housing is made from 6061-T6 Aluminum, and it has an anodized finish which will help protect the optic from moisture and the elements. It also has a very clear lens, around 2 years’ worth of battery life, and a 3.5 MOA dot reticle which is right in my personal sweet spot in terms of reticle size.

Last, like the Shield RMSc, the Hex Wasp is a ‘permanently on’ optic, and it will automatically adjust the reticle brightness level to the ambient lighting conditions that you’re shooting in. Now like I said earlier, I prefer manual brightness adjustment, but that’s a personal preference I have and there are many others who like the simplicity of automatic brightness adjustment technology. If you fall into the latter group, the Hex Wasp might be the right optic for you.

6. Holosun HS407K-X2

holosun red dot for glock 43x mos

If you’ve followed my blog at all, it’s no secret that I’m a Holosun fanboy. So of course, I had to put a second Holosun on this list, but let me explain how the Holosun 407K differs from the 507K, and why you might want to consider it…

First of all, the Holosun 407K is very rugged and reliable. It’s built in the exact same manner as the 507K, and it features the same squared-off top, which as I said before, adds a lot of durability. It also has ultra long battery life of around 50,000 hours (on settings 6), Shake Awake technology, and a battery tray making battery changes quick and easy without the need to remove the optic from your handgun slide…

It’s also an X2 version, so you can lock out the brightness buttons while you’re concealed carrying it on your gun, and the footprint is the same as the 507K. So you will need an adapter plate if you want to mount it onto the Glock 43X MOS (you can get an adapter plate here).

All that being said, there are really 2 main things that differentiate the 407K from the 507K. First of all, you only get 1 reticle on the 407K and it’s a 6 MOA dot. That’s a little bigger than my personal preference, but it’s still a very useful dot size and has its own benefits (such as being a little easier to track)…

The second difference is in terms of price because the 407K is a less expensive optic than the 507K. So if you like all of the features of the 507K but you just want a 6 MOA dot reticle and want to save a little bit of money, then the Holosun 407K is definitely the optic you should go with.

7. Trijicon RMRcc

glock 43x mos review

The final optic on this list of amazing red dots for the Glock 43X MOS is the Trijicon RMRcc. Now if you don’t know, Trijicon is famous for making super rugged and reliable optics. The Trijicon RMR actually sets the standard for toughness when it comes to full-sized handgun optics, and its little brother, the RMRcc (the ‘cc’ stands for ‘concealed carry’) is no slouch in that area as well…

First of all, the Trijicon RMRcc is constructed from 7075 aluminum and it features the patented RMR square-top design which is famous for being insanely tough. It’s also waterproof in up to 66 ft of water, and it’s more than strong enough to handle concealed carry service on your Glock 43X…

In addition to that, the RMRcc gives you 10 brightness settings (including two Night Vision settings), and it has ultra long battery life which can last for around 4 years. When it comes to reticle size, there are actually two versions of the RMRcc, a 3.5 MOA dot version and a 6.5 MOA dot version. Again, I prefer the 3.5 MOA dot version because of the precision it offers you when aiming, but a large dot can be a little easier to track when you’re shooting fast…

Last, like the Holosun 507K and 407K, the Trijicon RMRcc has a proprietary footprint. So to mount it onto your Glock 43X MOS you will need an adapter plate (you can get one here). But all in all, if you’re looking for the toughest possible red dot sight for your 43X, then the Trijicon RMRcc is the way to go.

Best CZ Scorpion Binary Trigger [Top 3 List]

/ by
cz scorpion binary trigger

The CZ Scorpion is such a fun gun to shoot…

I remember when I first got mine, I couldn’t wait to take it into the Nevada desert to start popping some steel plates with it…

Part of what makes it such a fun gun to shoot is that it’s very easy to control…

It’s just a 9mm, and the big heavy blow-back bolt on the Scorpion weighs down the whole gun just enough to make it extremely soft-shooting…

But what if you could make your Scorpion run even faster?

Well, with the invention of the CZ Scorpion Binary Trigger, that’s actually not a very hard thing to do…

Now if you don’t know what a Binary trigger is, it’s basically a trigger that gives you the ability to fire off shots faster because in ‘Binary mode’ the gun will shoot when the trigger is pulled AND when the trigger is released…

And in this article, I’ll be giving you a few of the best binary triggers for the CZ Scorpion that are currently on the market…

On top of that, I’ll give you a non-binary trigger option as well and explain why you might want to consider it if your goal is to increase your shooting speed…

Let’s get started!

CZ Scorpion Binary Trigger – My Top Choices…

The CZ Scorpion binary trigger is made by Franklin Armory, and the trigger comes in two versions, the CZ-C1 (curved trigger) and the CZ-S1 (straight trigger). Both versions are 3 position triggers which include a Safe position, a Semi position (in which 1 round is fired when the trigger is pulled), and a Binary position (in which 1 round is fired when the trigger is pulled and 1 round is fired when the trigger is released)…

The following will give you more information about each of these binary trigger options, and I’ll also introduce you to a standard CZ Scorpion trigger that you might also consider if your goal is to shoot faster…

1. Franklin Armory BFSIII CZ-C1 Trigger

cz scorpion binary trigger review

The Franklin Armory BFSIII CZ-C1 trigger is the most popular binary trigger option for the CZ Scorpion. The trigger itself looks like an unassuming, standard curved trigger, but that’s really where the similarities end…

It comes with an ambidextrous safety selector, which I think is cool, and that safety selector has 3 positions on it: the Safe position, the Semi position that allows you to fire like any other semi-automatic firearm, and the Binary position that allows you to fire 1 round when you pull the trigger and 1 round when you release the trigger…

This binary function can greatly increase the split time between the shots that you’ve fired. And it can be used to shoot faster in both tactical or defensive situations or in a competition setting as well. On top of all that, it’s pretty easy to install, and can really turn your Scorpion into an even more fun range toy.

2. Franklin Armory BFSIII CZ-S1 Trigger

binary trigger cz scorpion

Another very exciting binary trigger that’s offered by Franklin Armory is the BFSIII CZ-S1. Just like with the BFSIII CZ-C1, this trigger comes with an ambidextrous safety selector, which makes it a great option regardless of whether you’re left or right-handed…

This trigger also has the same 3 positions that are found on the BFSIII CZ-C1, which means you can put your Scorpion on safe. You can select normal semi-automatic fire just like you could with a regular trigger in your Scorpion, and of course, you can choose the binary position if you want your Scorpion to fire when you pull the trigger and when you release the trigger…

Another cool feature that both the BFSIII CZ-C1 and CZ-S1 have is that if you pull the trigger while the selector is on binary mode, you can actually switch it to the safe position and a round will not fire when you release the trigger. This is a great feature because it gives you more control over when exactly your Scorpion will fire and when it won’t…

All that being said, the big difference between the CZ-C1 and the CZ-S1 is simply that you get a straight trigger rather than a curved one. Now I personally like straight triggers. I just think they’re a little easier to be accurate with and that they generally feel a little better on my finger. But really, the choice between curved and straight triggers just comes down to personal preference…

So if you like the look and feel of a curved trigger, then go with the BFSIII CZ-C1, but if you prefer the look and feel of a straight trigger, you might want to take a closer look at the BFSIII CZ-S1.

3. Timney Triggers CZ Scorpion Drop In Trigger (Not Binary, But…)

binary trigger for cz scorpion

The final trigger option that I wanted to share with you is the Timney Triggers CZ Scorpion Drop In Trigger. Now this is not a binary trigger, but let me explain how it can help you shoot faster…

First of all, Timney is famous for making some of the best triggers you can get for AR 15s, IWI Tavors, Glocks, and a number of other firearms as well. And guess what… their CZ Scorpion drop in trigger is super high-quality as well.

It’s contains a trigger shoe and hammer that are precision machined and that are heat-treated to 56 Rockwell C. It also has a black oxide finish and the hammer has an NP-3 plating which will add smoothness and lubricity to the unit and make it extremely rugged. All of this together means that you get a finely tuned (and durable) Scorpion trigger that comes in somewhere in the range of 2-3 pounds…

Now some people might say that that’s too lightweight of a trigger for them, but I disagree because I think that’s a fantastic trigger weight for a couple of reasons. First of all, everyone knows that a lighter weight trigger will generally make it easier for you to shoot accurately. This is because you don’t have to focus as hard on pulling a heavy trigger straight back to the rear without disturbing your sights at all…

But another great benefit of having a lightweight trigger is that you can shoot much faster than you could with a heavy trigger because again, your finger and hand muscles don’t have to do as much work. So if you are looking for a way to increase your split times or just your shooting speed in general with your Scorpion, the Timney drop in trigger will help you do that, and it’s a less expensive option than both binary triggers that are offered by Franklin Armory.

Best CZ Scorpion Pistol Brace [Top 6 List]

/ by
cz scorpion pistol brace

I love taking my CZ Scorpion out to the range…

It’s an amazing little gun because it’s super reliable, simple, fun to shoot, and extremely customizable…

It can be had in the form of a pistol caliber carbine with over a 16-inch barrel, but you can also get variations of the Scorpion that are legally considered a pistol…

At the time I’m writing this, it is perfectly legal to attach a pistol brace on the back end of your CZ Scorpion pistol (always stay up to date on the current laws and ATF rule changes)…

But the question is… Of all the options available right now, what’s the best CZ Scorpion pistol brace?

That’s a good question, and in this post will be answering for you by giving you my list of the Top 6 Best Pistol braces for the CZ Scorpion…

CZ Scorpion Pistol Brace – Top 6 List…

The best CZ Scorpion pistol brace is the SB Tactical SBTEVO Pistol Stabilizing Brace. The SBTEVO is the best because it’s a durable stabilizing brace, it has a side-folding mechanism, it’s easy to install, and it’s designed to look similar to the iconic stocks used on HK platform sub-guns such as the MP5…

The following list will give you more information about the SBTEVO brace, and I’ll also show you some other fantastic stabilizing braces that you can consider for your CZ Scorpion…

1. SB Tactical SBTEVO Folding Pistol Stabilizing Brace (My #1 Pick!)

best pistol brace for cz scorpion

Like I mentioned above, I think the best pistol brace for the CZ Scorpion is the SB Tactical SBTEVO Folding Pistol Stabilizing Brace. I have it on my personal CZ Scorpion pistol, and I absolutely love it…

It’s a great brace for many reasons, but to start off with, it’s built from a very durable polymer which makes it both lightweight and extremely rugged. In addition to that, when I first got this brace I found it to be incredibly easy to install. All I had to do was slide it into position on the rear end of the Scorpion until it clicked into position…

I also love that it has an integral side-folding mechanism because you can make your Scorpion a much more compact package instantly, and I also think that this brace makes the Scorpion look really freaking cool, which is no accident because it was designed to look like the B&T stocks that are commonly used on HK submachine guns, like the MP5

So all in all, I love this stabilizing brace. It’s what I chose to put on my gun, and I think you’ll really enjoy it too.

2. SB Tactical SBTEVO-G2 CZ Scorpion EVO Pistol Brace

pistol brace for cz scorpion

Another amazing option that you should consider when looking for a brace for your CZ Scorpion is the SB Tactical SBTEVO-G2 Pistol Brace. Just as with my first pick on this list, this is a brace made by SB Tactical, and it’s very similar to the SBTEVO in many ways…

You can actually think of it as a second generation of the SBTEVO, which is exactly why SB Tactical calls it the “G2” in its name. It’s also made from a very durable polymer which makes it both very rugged and lightweight at the same time, and it’s also extremely easy to install, which is done by simply sliding it into position on your Scorpion until it clicks…

On top of that, it has an integrated QD (Quick Detach) socket that you can use if you want to attach a sling to your Scorpion, and it also has an integral side-folding mechanism which allows you to fold the brace over and make your Scorpion a much more compact package…

Last, as you can see, it has a very different look from the SBTEVO above, and that’s because SB Tactical worked with CZ to make this brace look similar to the SB-Mini brace. I think it looks really cool, and if you’re stuck trying to decide between the SBTEVO and the SBTEVO-G2, it really comes down to which one you think looks cooler because they’re both fantastic pistol braces.

3. Gear Head Works Scorpion Tailhook Mounting Kit And Brace

cz scorpion folding brace tailhook

Ok, this is where things start to get a little bit more complicated, only because for this system you’d need to get two separate pieces rather than one unit like the braces above. Number 3 on my list is the Gear Head Works Scorpion Tailhook Mounting Kit And Brace…

Let’s begin by discussing the Tailhook Mounting Kit. This is a very cool option when it comes to mounting a brace on your Scorpion for a few reasons. First of all, the guys over at Gear Head Works incorporate a factory CZ folding cheek rest into this kit. That means this kit features a cheek rest that was actually designed by CZ from the factory to work with the Scorpion…

In addition to that, this mounting kit is very durable, and it allows you to adjust the length of the brace to your desired position, which is something the above brace options don’t allow you to do.

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The Gear Head Works Scorpion Tailhook Mounting Kit:

Now, along with the mounting kit, you will need to get the Gear Head Works Tailhook Mod 1 Pistol Brace, which simply clamps onto the rear of the mounting kit. This is a great brace option for the Scorpion for a few reasons…

First of all, the Tailhook is made from Aluminum, so it’s an extremely rugged bracing system. In addition to that, it’s a unique design that allows you to press a button to drop a shelf that you can use to counterbalance the weight from your Scorpion’s muzzle if you choose to fire it from a one-handed position…

And as usual with my accessories lists, it does look really cool. So you end up adding style to your gun in addition to real functionality.

CZ Scorpion Brace Adapter – Giving You More Pistol Brace Options…

A lot of pistol brace options are made to work with AR 15 pistols, and there’s actually a way that you can make these brace systems work with your CZ Scorpion…

To go with these options, all you really need is an adapter that will allow you to affix a buffer tube to the rear of your Scorpion. Now there are many different adapter options, but I’m going to give you my two favorite choices…

First of all, I like the ability to add a side-folding brace because it allows you to make your overall CZ Scorpion package extremely compact. And if you’d like to have that capability as well, I highly recommend the Sylvan Arms Titan CZ Scorpion Folding Stock Adapter

cz scorpion brace adapter

The Sylvan Arms Titan CZ Scorpion Folding Stock Adapter is an awesome piece of equipment. It’s built to an extremely high standard, and it’s also made out of CNC machined aluminum which makes it a very rugged addition to your Scorpion…

It also allows you to mount a brace to your Scorpion pistol that can be folded to the side. The folding mechanism is very sturdy, and you can even fire your Scorpion with the brace in the folded position if you want or need to. It’s also easy to assemble, and like I said earlier, it gives you a ton of pistol brace options to choose from. So you can pick out the perfect one for your Scorpion…

If you are happy with a fixed adaptor (without the ability to fold your pistol brace over to the side), I highly recommend the Anarchy Outdoors CZ Scorpion Arm Brace Adapter

cz scorpion 9mm pistol with brace

The Anarchy Outdoors CZ Scorpion Arm Brace Adapter is awesome because it’s simple, affordable, and strong. First of all, it’s built from 6061-T6 Aluminum, which keeps it lightweight and very durable at the same time…

It’s also easy to install, and it’s a great option if you’d like to mount a pistol brace onto your Scorpion that will be fixed into the straight-back position.

4. SB Tactical SBA4 Pistol Stabilizing Brace

pistol brace for cz scorpion evo 3

The SB Tactical SBA4 Pistol Stabilizing Brace is if one of my all-time favorite pistol brace options. There are so many things that this brace design gets right. To begin, I love that it looks like an AR 15 stock without actually being a stock… It just looks cool!

In addition to that, it actually comes with a receiver extension/buffer tube, which allows it to be adjustable in terms of length with the lever you see in the center, and you can easily mount it onto your scorpion by getting one of the adapter options that I mentioned above…

It’s also made of a heavy-duty rubber-like material. It includes QD (quick Detach) sling sockets, so you can easily mount a sling on your Scorpion, and everything about it screams that it’s high quality. I have it on one of my AR pistols, but I think it’s a great brace option for a CZ Scorpion as well.

5. Gear Head Works Tailhook Mod 2 Telescoping Pistol Stabilizing Brace

cz scorpion folding pistol brace

Earlier, I showed you one Gear Head Works brace option for your Scorpion, but there’s actually a second option that is really exciting as well. This is the Gear Head Works Tailhook Mod 2 Telescoping Pistol Stabilizing Brace…

Much like the SB Tactical SBA4 above, this is a brace that is meant to be paired with an AR 15 pistol, but again, with the addition of one of the adapters I showed you above, you could easily mount this puppy onto your Scorpion, and it would be a great choice for many reasons…

Like the SBA4 it comes with its own proprietary buffer tube system, which allows it to be ‘telescoping’ and means that you can easily adjust it to your desired length…

It’s also made from a reinforced polymer which means it’s very rugged, and this material also keeps it extremely lightweight at the same time. In addition to all that, it has the classic Tailhook shelf which can help you balance the gun when firing one-handed, and it comes in some really cool colors as well including Black, Flat Dark Earth, and OD Green.

6. SB Tactical SBA3 Pistol Brace

cz scorpion pistol brace options

Even though it’s the last option on the list, the SB Tactical SBA3 Pistol Brace would be a fantastic choice for your Scorpion as well. As you can imagine, it’s very similar to SB Tactical’s SBA4 which I showed you earlier on this list, but it does have a couple of small differences…

First of all, just like with the SBA4, this brace is designed to be used with an AR 15 pistol, but it can easily be paired with your Scorpion by using one of the adapters that I listed above. It’s also made from a sturdy rubber-like material, and it incorporates QD sling swivels, which will make mounting a sling to your Scorpion quick and simple…

It also comes with its own receiver extension/buffer tube, and it can be adjusted (with the use of the center lever) to your desired length just like the SBA4. The two big differences from the SBA4 are that it looks a little different, and it’s more lightweight. I personally like the way it looks. I have it on one of my AR pistols, and I think that if you like the look of it, it’ll be a great brace option for your CZ Scorpion as well.

Best Hellcat Optic [Top 7 List]

/ by
hellcat optic

I’m a huge believer in the right and responsibility of concealed carry…

And these are exciting times right now because there are so many gun manufacturers…

…coming out with incredibly cool subcompact guns that have great ammo capacity and that are incredibly reliable.

One of these concealed carry guns is the Hellcat by Springfield Armory…

It’s an amazing gun because even though it gives you 11+ rounds, it’s so small that when you carry it, the pistol practically disappears…

On top of that, Springfield makes it very easy to mount an optic on your Hellcat by offering several optics ready models…

And that leads us to the main topic for today’s post… What is the best Springfield Hellcat optic?

That’s a good question, and I’ve done my best to answer it for you with this list of the Top 7 Hellcat red dots that are currently available on the market…

Best Hellcat Optic – Top 7 List…

The best Hellcat optic is the HEX Wasp followed closely by the Holosun 507k X2. The HEX Wasp is a robust little red dot with an RMSc footprint that will fit directly onto the Hellcat’s optic cut. The Holosun 507k is the best miniature subcompact pistol optic in terms of reliability and durability, but it will require a mounting plate (or modification to your slide) to mount it on the Hellcat.

The following will give you more information on these two fantastic little optics, and I’ll also give you 5 other amazing little red dots for Hellcat concealed carry pistols…

1. HEX Wasp

hellcat reddot

When you’re talking about the best Hellcat reddot, the HEX Wasp has to be at the top of the list. The reason why is because the HEX line of optics was designed by Springfield Armory, and the Wasp model was specifically designed for the Hellcat…

And here’s the best part, the HEX Wasp is a fantastic little red dot sight for many reasons. First of all, it’s a very well-built and rugged little optic. It’s made from 6061-T6 Aluminum and it has a black anodized finish that will protect it from the elements…

It’s also waterproof in up to 1 meter of water, and it can easily handle the abuse an optic takes when being mounted on a handgun slide. In addition to that, the lens on the Wasp is very clear and you get a 3.5 MOA dot reticle which I think is a good size because it’ll be easy for your eye to pick up but still small enough to aim with precision at small targets or targets at distance…

On top of all that, the Wasp is low-profile. So you can get a co-witness with the Hellcat’s fantastic iron sights while looking through the optic. It also has super long battery life (around two years worth of constant use), and it’s an “always on” optic that auto-adjusts the brightness to the ambient lighting conditions…

I do wish they offered a manual version because I like to have a little more control over my optic, but the auto-adjusting technology that they’ve incorporated into the HEX Wasp does work pretty well.

2. Holosun HS507K X2

red dots for hellcat

Like I said earlier, the Holosun 507k X2 is the best miniature red dot sight in its class (the size of optic that fits on slimline subcompact pistols like the Hellcat, Glock 43X, Sig P365, etc.). I say it’s the best for many reasons…

First of all, Holosun is known for making extremely rugged (and affordable) pistol optics, and the 507K is no different. It’s built from 7075-T6 aluminum, it’s anodized to protect the optic from the elements, it has the squared-off top which adds durability if it takes an impact, and it’s waterproof in up to 1 meter of water…

In addition to the durability and reliability that you get with the 507k, it’s also packed with a ton of useful features. For instance, it comes with Holosun’s Multiple Reticle System which allows you to choose between 3 different reticle options, including a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle, and the Holosun Circle Dot Reticle (which is my favorite because it helps you shoot faster and accurately at the same time)…

It also gives you ultra-long battery life (over 50,000 hours on setting 6), and it has a battery tray which makes changing out the battery fast and easy when the time comes (no need to remove the optic from the handgun slide)…

On top of that, it has a Shake Awake feature which means the optic turns off when it’s not being used and automatically turns on when it senses motion, thus saving you battery life, and it also has a button lock feature which means you can set the optic to the perfect brightness and then lock it so the buttons don’t accidentally get pushed while you’re carrying it.

Why Is The Holosun 507K X2 Not Number 1?

The reason I put the HEX Wasp as #1 and the Holosun 507k at #2 is because the 507k’s footprint is close but not exactly the same as the RMSc footprint. And that means you either need to modify your Hellcat slide a little bit or simply get an adapter plate (which you can get here)…

So in the end, I do prefer the 507k over the Wasp, but because the 507k takes an adapter plate to mount it on the Hellcat, I ranked it as a close number 2 behind the Wasp.

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The Holosun HS507K X2:

3. Shield RMSc

springfield hellcat optic

The Shield RMSc is another great choice for a Springfield Hellcat optic. To start off, because it is the actual Shield RMSc (the “c” standing for compact), it features the RMSc footprint, which as I’ve mentioned before is what the optics ready Hellcat comes with an optic cut for…

So it fits onto the optics-ready Hellcat’s slide without any modification or adapter plates. In addition to that, the RMSc is a fairly durable little sight that features prominent support rails on the sides of its aluminum sight housing…

It also comes in mutliple versions. For example you can get a 4 MOA dot reticle or an 8 MOA dot reticle on your RMSc, and you can also choose between getting a glass lens or a polymer lens depending on how you’d personally like to balance lens clarity with lens durability…

Last, the Shield RMSc is similar to the HEX Wasp in that it’s a permanently on optic that will auto adjust its reticle’s brightness level to the ambient lighting conditions of the area in which you’re shooting. So all in all, it’s another great red dot choice for the Hellcat.

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The Shield RMSc:

4. Crimson Trace RAD Micro Pro

best optic for hellcat

Another very exciting red dot option for your Springfield Hellcat is the Crimson Trace RAD Micro Pro. At the time I’m writing this, the RAD Micro Pro is a brand new optic to the market, and it’s getting rave reviews for several reasons…

To begin, it’s a very rugged little red dot sight. It’s made from Aerospace Aluminum, and squared-off/angled design of the sight housing makes it very durable if it ever takes a fall or takes any other type of heavy impact. It also has large brightness buttons which are very easy to use, and it just looks really cool…

The RAD Micro Pro also has a 3 MOA dot reticle, which I think is a great size (I prefer 2 to 3.5 MOA dot reticles because they are very easy for your eye to pick up, but still allow you to aim very precisely), and the battery life is very adequate at around 10,000 hours.

It’s also a waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof optic, and it’s a great fit for the Hellcat because it comes with the RMSc footprint. So you can mount it directly onto your Hellcat slide without any modifications or adapter plates. All in all, this is an optic that has an extremely bright future, and I believe that very soon, they’re going to get incredibly popular.

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The Crimson Trace RAD Micro Pro:

5. Swampfox Sentinel

optic for springfield hellcat

Another great optic for the Springfield Hellcat is the Swampfox Sentinel. First of all, the Swampfox Sentinel comes with the RMSc footprint. So it’s another optic that can be mounted directly onto your Hellcat’s slide without any additional plates or modifications…

On top of that, it’s a fairly strong little optic. It’s probably not quite as rugged as some of the other options, but to make up for that, Swampfox sells a steel cover that you can put around the Sentinel while it’s mounted on your Hellcat making it a very durable optics package…

It also comes with a 3 MOA dot reticle, which as I mentioned above is a great size for aiding you in both speed and accuracy, and the battery life is ultra-long too because you can keep the sight on for 2 years straight.

Another thing I really like about the Sentinel is that it comes in 2 versions. One version is set up with automatic brightness technology, which a lot of people love. But the other version is a manual brightness adjustment model which is the type of optic that I generally prefer because I like having that little bit of extra control over my red dot’s brightness.

I love that they offer both models because they’ve got you covered regardless of which brightness system you prefer!

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The Swampfox Sentinel:

6. Holosun HS407K X2

optic for hellcat

Being a Holosun fanboy, I couldn’t resist the urge of putting another Holosun on this list. But here’s the deal, the Holosun 407K is another great optic choice for the Hellcat…

To start off, the 407K is very similar to the 507K that I mentioned above. It’s a very durable little red dot sight, and it has a lot of cool and useful features such as: ultra-long battery life (50,000 hours on setting 6), Shake Awake technology to save your battery life, a quick change battery tray, and the button lock feature, so your optic’s buttons don’t accidentally get pushed making your brightness super high or extremely low while you’re carrying the optic…

The one major difference from the 507K is that the Holosun 407K only comes with a 6 MOA dot reticle, and because of that, it’s a little less expensive than the 507K. Now to mount the 407K onto the Hellcat, you will have to get an adapter plate (go here if you need one)…

But all in all, I think the 407K is a great optic that will save you some money if you like the features of the Holosun 507K but are happy with a 6 MOA dot reticle.

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The Holosun HS407K X2:

7. Trijicon RMRcc

best optic for springfield hellcat

The last red dot on this list of amazing Hellcat optics is the Trijicon RMRcc. Trijicon is famous for making the RMR which is an extremely rugged optic that many people mount onto their full-size or double-stacked handguns, and the RMRcc (which stands for “concealed carry”) is Trijicon’s slim-lined or subcompact optic…

Just like its bigger brother the RMR, the Trijicon RMRcc is insanely tough. It features Trijicon’s squared top design which adds strength to the sight housing, and it’s built using 7075 Aluminum. It’s waterproof in up to 66 ft of water, and it’s more than tough enough to be mounted on your Hellcat for concealed carry duty…

It also has super long battery life (4 years worth), and 10 brightness settings including 2 NV (night vision) modes. In addition to that, the RMRcc comes in two versions, a 3.25 MOA dot reticle version and a 6.5 MOA dot reticle version. I prefer the 3.25 MOA dot version because I like to run smaller dots on my optics for more precision when aiming, but there are some people who prefer a bigger dot so I’m glad that Trijicon offers both models…

Last, the Trijicon RMRcc has its own proprietary footprint. So just like the Holosun 507K and 407K, you will need an adapter plate to mount it on your Springfield Hellcat (you can get one here). But if you’re looking for absolute top-of-the-line durability, the Trijicon RMRcc is for you.

The Holosun HS407 X2 is another great reflex sight suited for use on the Canik TP9 Elite subcompact pistol. Mounting the sight is easy with the modified Shield RMS footprint.

It’s much like the Holosun HS507K that I mentioned earlier, but the key difference is that you only get one 6 MOA dot reticle rather than the multiple reticle system featured on the 507K.

So If you like the Holosun 507K, but are happy with a 6 MOA dot reticle, you can save a little bit of money by going with this optic.

  • Robust build quality (very durable little sight)
  • Convenient, low positioned buttons
  • Ultra Long battery life: Up to 50,000 hours on setting 6
  • 6 MOA dot is clearly visible in all lighting conditions. It’s a little large than I generally prefer, but it’s still a good size for balancing speed and accuracy when you’re shooting
  • Button Lock Feature: so you can lock out your buttons which will prevent you from accidentally hitting them and changing the brightness level on your sight.
  • The rear sight slot is incorporated in the Holosuns design as a backup rear sight.

5. Swampfox Sentinel-M (The Best Budget Option)

canik tp9 elite sc laser

The Swampfox sentinel micro reflex sights are available in two models, the “M” and “A.” The M stands for manual, and the A is automatic…

Both sights are identical in size and quality, with the main difference being that the “A” version adjusts the dot brightness according to the lighting conditions.

My choice is the manual version because it just gives you greater control over the brightness level you want on your sight…

Sight Features:

Sight TypeOpen Reflex Sight
Housing Material7075 Aluminum
Size L/H/W1.61 x 0.91 x 0.94
Power SourceCR2032 (Minimum 2 year battery life)

What I Like About This Optic…

  • RMSc footprint fits directly onto the Canik TP9 Elite SC.
  • Ability to physically turn off the Sentinel-M sight when storing the weapon (this will save you battery life)
  • The 3 MOA dot is clearly visible and a good size for balancing speed and accuracy when you’re shooting (I like a 3 or 2 MOA dot)
  • Robustly built unit, and you can get a steel cover to put around the optic for more durability.
  • Shake ‘N Wake feature (again, saving you battery life)

Final Thoughts…

So again, my choice for the best open reflex sight for use with the Canik TP9 Elite SC is the Holosun HS507k X2, even though there are a few great options…

This sight’s compact size, excellent build quality, long battery life, mut=ltipel reticle options, Shake Awake feature, easy battery replacement, and co-witness design make it an amazing sight for any small or concealed carry gun!

Best M&P 15 Sport 2 Free Float Handguard [Top 6 List]

/ by
m&p 15 sport 2 free float handguard

The M&P 15 Sport 2 is a fantastic AR 15…

I consider it to be the best budget AR that’s currently on the market…

…because Smith And Wesson really put a lot of quality into the design, especially when you consider just how affordable it is.

But even though it’s an amazing gun, S&W had to find areas that would allow them to keep the price down…

And one of the obvious areas that decided to help trim the cost down is the factory handguard, which is just a cheap piece of plastic…

Because of that, I think it’s a great idea to consider upgrading the handguard on your M&P 15 Sport…

And if you’re looking for the best M&P 15 Sport 2 free float handguard that you can get, you’ve comes to the right place because I’m going to share with you 6 amazing options that you can use to upgrade your rifle…

M&P 15 Sport 2 Free Float Handguard – Top 6 List…

1. ATLAS S-ONE M-LOK Handguard (My Top Pick)

m&p 15 sport 2 handguard replacement

The Atlas S-One M-LOK Handguard by Aero Precision is my top pick if you’re looking for an M&P 15 Sport 2 handguard upgrade. I think it’s a fantastic handguard for many reasons. First of all, it has that reduced top rail section, which I think looks cool, but also reduces the overall weight of the rail and gives you both a more ergonomic and slimmer handguard to grip the gun…

You still have rail sections on top in the areas that most people will use, like at the front of the handguard for BUIS (back up iron sights), but Aero Precision eliminated the top rail in areas that you’re less likely to use. In addition to that, the Atlas S-One is an M-LOK rail which means you can attach M-LOK compatible accessories or M-LOK rails pretty much where ever you’d like to…

This gives you a lot of options for mounting lights, lasers, vertical foregrips, bipods, and other accessories as well. Another cool feature is the included QD sockets, which will give you options when mounting a sling to your rifle, and you can get the Atlas in an anodized black color or with a Magpul FDE Cerakote finish…

All in all, the Atlas S-One is packed with useful features, pretty affordable for a top-quality handguard, and it looks pretty freaking cool. Important Note: I recommend going with the 15″ handguard because it will cover most of your M&P 15 Sport’s 16″ barrel, but you could also make the 12.7″ handguard work if you prefer a shorter handguard.

2. Bravo Company KMR Alpha Keymod Rail

m&p 15 sport 2 handguard upgrade

Another amazing free float handguard that you can put on your M&P 15 Sport 2 is the Bravo Company KMR Alpha Keymod Rail. BCM (Bravo Manufacturing) is known for making some of the best AR 15s and AR accessories on the market, and the KMR Alpha rail has been setting the standard for a few years now…

I love it because it’s extremely lightweight without sacrificing strength. And it’s also incredibly slim, so it feels very comfortable in your hand when you’re shooting. It is a Keymod rail rather than M-LOK, which some people won’t like. But I personally like both mounting systems, and I don’t think that either one is ‘head and shoulders’ better than the other…

In fact, I actually find Keymod to be just a little bit easier to use when mounting accessories. And one of the cool things about this rail is that you get Keymod in the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock positions…

So there’s virtually no area on the handguard that’s off-limits when it comes to mounting accessories like lights, lasers, vertical foregrips, hand stops, and more because you can put them all exactly where you want them…

So I love this rail because it gives you a ton of function while still keeping the weight down, and I also think it will make your Sport look really cool as well. Important Note: Once again, I recommend going with the 15″ handguard because it will cover most of your M&P 15 Sport’s 16″ barrel, but with the KMR rail you could also make the 13″ rail work if you prefer a shorter handguard.

3. Geissele Super Modular Rail MK8 (15in M-LOK)

m&p 15 free float handguard kit

Geissele is another manufacturer that is known for making absolute top-quality AR 15 accessories, and their 15″ Super Modular Rail (SMR) MK8 would be an amazing addition to your M&P 15 Sport…

This rail is both extremely lightweight and very strong, and it’s also slim which makes it more comfortable in your hand when you’re shooting. Unlike, the BCM KMR Keymod rail above, this rail is an M-LOK rail, and it features M-LOK in the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions, as well as the upper 45-degree quadrants…

So again, you can pretty much put your lights, lasers, hand stops, and other accessories anywhere you want to, and the lower 45-degree quadrants are designed to help vent out the heat from your barrel and handguard as well…

On top of all that, this rail looks incredible, and you can get it in an anodized black color or an FDE color. Last, I should also mention that this is a 15″ rail which I think is perfect for an M&P Sport, which has a 16″ barrel.

4. Daniel Defense MFR XS Rail

M-lok handguard for m&p 15 sport 2

Did you know that Daniel Defense actually makes rails and handguards for the U.S. Military? So they can truly claim, at least on some of their products, that they make ‘Mil spec’ equipment. And all that really means is that their rails are super high quality and built to be tough, and that’s exactly the case with the Daniel Defense MFR XS Rail…

Once again on this list, we have a lightweight, rugged rail that looks incredibly cool. You can actually get the MFR XS rail in either a Keymod version or an M-LOK version, and you get those attachments on both sides and the bottom of the handguard. The top rail is uninterrupted, which could be important if you wanted to mount a laser and other accessories up there, and overall, the built quality on this handguard is amazing…

Just as I’ve been saying, I recommend you go with the 15″ version because your M&P 15 Sport 2 has a 16″ barrel, and that 15″ handguard will allow you to hold the rifle further out (for more leverage) and to rest your handguard (without touching the barrel) on barricades, tree branches, rocks, walls, or whatever else you need to to get more stability when you’re shooting.

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The Daniel Defense MFR XS Rail:

5. ATLAS R-ONE M-LOK Handguard

m&p sport 2 handguard options

The Atlas R-One M-LOK handguard by Aero Precision is very similar to its brother that I mentioned earlier on this list, the Atlas S-One. It’s a very sturdy and well-built rail, and at the same time, it’s designed to be lightweight…

It’s also very ergonomic to grasp, and it does a great job at protecting your hand from the heat of the barrel when you’re shooting multiple magazines through your M&P 15 Sport. It also has integrated QD sockets giving you a lot of sling mounting options

And the M-LOK attachments can be found on both sides of the rail and on the bottom. The main difference from the Atlas S-One (as you can see) is that the Atlas R-One has an uninterrupted Picatinny rail going across that top…

This might be an important feature to you if, for example, you wanted to mount a pressure pad for your weapon light or a laser on the top rail. And there are a number of other accessories that you might want to mount on the top rail as well…

So if that’s the case for you and you like the Atlas S-One but wish the rail on top went all across the top, the Atlas R-One is for you. And just as I’ve said before, I recommend going with the 15″ version of this rail because it’ll fit perfectly with your M&P 15 Sport’s 16″ barrel.

6. Daniel Defense DD M4 Rail

best quad rail for m&p 15 sport 2

Ok, I’ve already told you how Daniel Defense makes super rugged and extremely high-quality rails, and the Daniel Defense DD M4 Rail is, at this point, an absolute classic. As you can see, it is a quad rail, and it’s the only one on this list because quad rails can be extremely heavy and bulky in the hand…

That’s not the case for this rail though because even though it is going to be a little heavier than the other rails on this list, Daniel Defense did a great job of trimming weight wherever they could on this design…

On top of that, DD quad rails are known for being ergonomic and slim in the hand, and even though Keymod and M-LOK rails are very secure, neither will ever be as strong as an old-school quad rail…

So if you’re interested in the best quad rail for your M&P 15 Sport 2, I recommend you take a closer look at the DD M4 rail. And just as I’ve said throughout this entire post, I suggest that you go with the 15-inch version because it’ll pair best with your Sport.

14 Smith And Wesson M&P 15 Sport 2 Upgrades [Ultimate List]

/ by
smith and wesson m&p 15 sport 2 upgrades

If you’ve recently picked up a Smith And Wesson M&P 15 Sport 2, then Congratulations! You’ve picked up an awesome AR 15!

The M&P 15 Sport is an amazing AR because it’s an affordable option that doesn’t really sacrifice on quality…

But are there parts on this incredible rifle that can be upgraded or improved? Is The M&P Sport 2 Customizable? The answer is… absolutely!

And that’s exactly why I’ve created this Smith And Wesson M&P 15 Sport 2 Upgrades list…

In it, you’re going to see what I think are some of the best accessories for your M&P 15 Sport 2…

And by the end, you’ll be able to decide which areas you should upgrade on your Sport II and which areas you should keep stock from the factory (just as they came)…

Let’s get started!

Smith And Wesson M&P 15 Sport 2 Upgrades – Top 14 List…

1. Midwest Industries AR-15/M16 M-Series Two Piece Drop-In M-LOK Handguard

smith and wesson m&p 15 sport 2 handguard

Like I said earlier, the M&P 15 Sport is a fantastic rifle, but there is one part that I consider to be absolute junk…and that is the cheap plastic handguard…

Now don’t get me wrong, I think the M&P 15 Sport 2 handguard looks nice, but it’s junk because it’s just a thin piece of plastic. It doesn’t have any heat lining in it, and I’ve seen one (the stock handguard) start to melt after firing just a couple of mags through the gun…

Here’s the good news… I think this is a great place for Smith & Wesson to save you some money (on the overall price you paid for the gun) because changing out your handguard is one of the easiest things you can do on your AR…

So the first upgrade I recommend for your M&P 15 Sport 2 is to replace the cheap plastic handguard with something better, and my favorite option right now is the Midwest Industries Drop In M-LOK Handguard. This is an amazing handguard for a few reasons…

First of all, it’s made from a high-quality aluminum. So it’s going to be a durable addition to your AR, but in addition to that, the M-LOK is also going to allow you to mount any other accessories that you might want (such as lights, lasers, vertical grips, bipods, etc.) onto your handguard

It’s also super easy to install, and aside from adding a lot of function to your rifle, it looks really freaking cool.

2. MAGPUL MOE SL CARBINE STOCK (MIL-SPEC)

m&p 15 sport 2 stock upgrade

Another great place to upgrade your M&P 15 Sport 2 is in the collapsible stock. Again, the stock that comes from the factory is just cheap plastic, and I have seen this type of AR stock break many times before…

It also limits you on the ways you can attach a sling to your rifle, and it rattles around quite a bit, which isn’t a functional problem but some people find it to be pretty annoying…

So right now, my favorite stock upgrade is the Magpul MOE SL Carbine Stock. I love this stock for many reasons. First of all, it fits very securely onto the buffer tube of your rifle. It’s still easy to adjust the length of pull, but it doesn’t have any of the annoying rattling that you get with the factory M&P 15 Sport stock…

In addition to that, it’s a very strong stock, and it does offer you a few different ways of attaching a sling to your rifle. It’s also extremely comfortable in your shoulder, and I think it looks awesome. In fact, I love the variety of colors that Magpul always seems to offer on all of their AR accessories. Important Note: The M&P Sport comes with a Mil-Spec sized buffer tube. So make sure that the stock you get is “mil-spec” rather than “commercial” in size.

3. Magpul MOE K2 + Grip

best accessories for m&p sport 2

Another part that I think you should seriously consider upgrading on your M&P 15 Sport is the grip. Most models of the Sport come with an A2 style pistol grip, and frankly, I think the A2 pistol grip sucks…

There are two reasons why I, personally, do not like the A2 pistol grip. The first reason is because it has a finger ledge. I can’t stand the A2 grip’s finger ledge because every time I try to grip one, my middle finger sits right on top of it. I then have to lower my hand on the grip and then start shooting, which is incredibly annoying…

The second reason why I don’t like the A2 grip is because it’s pretty skinny and doesn’t really fill my hand well. This is less of a problem than the finger ledge for me, but it’s still not ideal. So I always end up changing A2 style grips on my AR’s, and right now, my favorite aftermarket grip is the MOE K2+ Grip…

First of all, the MOE K2+ has no finger ledge. So I can grab it comfortably every time without adjusting my hand. In addition to that, it fills my hand the perfect amount without feeling too skinny. Also, because it’s the K2 version of the MOE, it sits at a slightly more vertical angle than the A2 grip, which I find to be a bit more comfortable when shooting. And last, it’s also the + model, which means it has a rubber coating around it that makes the grip feel amazing…

And don’t forget that Magpul makes their grips in a number of really cool colors, so you can either pick up a black grip to keep your rifle more unassuming, or get a grip with color to add a little more personality to your M&P 15 Sport.

4. INFORCE WML Gen 2 Weapon Mounted White LED Tactical Light

best accessories for s&w m&p 15 sport

One of the best accessories for your S&W M&P 15 Sport is the addition of a weapon light. This can easily be done if you’ve already upgraded the stock handguard, but even if you don’t want to upgrade the Sport’s handguard, there are light mounts that can attach to the front sight post and other areas as well…

A weapon light is extremely important if you think there’s ever a chance that you could use your rifle in self-defense, and I automatically put a light on all of my AR 15s. That being said, one of the coolest weapons light you can get is the Inforce WML…

The Inforce WML is a fantastic light because it has 400 lumens, which is plenty of power to light up targets at close or mid-range distances. It also comes with an integrated mount, so you can put it on your M&P Sport without buying an extra part (a light mount), and the angled button is simple and very easy to use. Aside from all of that, it’s a very rugged light, and it looks awesome.

5. CMMG .22 LR CONVERSION KIT BRAVO WITH 3-10 ROUND MAGAZINES

m&p 15 sport 2 upgrade kit

These days, the cost of shooting .223/5.56 ammo out of your M&P 15 Sport 2 can really add up. But what if there was a way that you could shoot your Sport a lot more without having to break the bank on expensive ammo bills. Well, there actually is and it’s called the CMMG .22 LR Conversion Kit…

This is an amazing M&P 15 Sport 2 Upgrade kit! Basically, all you have to do is replace your BCG (Bolt Carrier Group) with the .22 LR Conversion Kit and change out your magazines, and in a few seconds, you can switch calibers on your Sport from .223/5.56 to .22 LR (much cheaper)…

I love it because it’s a reliable conversion kit, and again, it allows you to save quite a bit of money by shooting much less expensive .22 LR out of your Sport. You can use it as a training device that allows you to shoot your exact same rifle and optic set up at a much lower cost, or you can use it as a way to have fun at the range shooting boxes of cheap .22 LR. It really is an awesome upgrade and I recommend it to anyone who owns an AR 15.

6. CMC DROP-IN TRIGGER (SINGLE STAGE, TACTICAL FLAT BOW, 3.5LBS)

m&p 15 sport 2 optics ready upgrades

The M&P 15 Sport 2 has what’s generally referred to as a “Mil Spec” trigger. It’s a decent trigger, but there’s definitely room for improvement. And right now, my favorite trigger upgrade for the Sport II is the CMC Tactical Flat Bow Drop-In Trigger…

First of all, this trigger looks really cool, and because it’s a drop-in trigger, it’s easy to install. In addition to that (and I can’t really explain why) but the flat-faced trigger feels better to me than a standard curved trigger, and it just makes my shooting experience more enjoyable (maybe because I’m more accurate)…

This trigger also pulls at a clean 3.5LBs which makes it very easy for you to pull the trigger straight back without disturbing your sights (it’s easier to be accurate with it). And on top of all that, the CMC Drop-In trigger is pretty affordable, especially considering the prices of other aftermarket triggers that are in its class.

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The CMC DROP-IN TRIGGER (SINGLE STAGE, TACTICAL FLAT BOW, 3.5LBS):

7. VG6 GAMMA 556 Muzzle Brake

VG6 GAMMA 556 Muzzle Brake

The muzzle device that comes standard on the M&P 15 Sport 2 is basically an A2 flash hider. It’s a good muzzle device if you want to hide the flash from your muzzle in low-light situations, but it’s definitely a basic muzzle device that can easily be upgraded…

One of the best options, if you want to upgrade this part of your rifle is the VG6 Gamma 556 Muzzle Brake. The reason why I like it is because it makes your rifle recoil less and stay extremely flat when you shoot. This allows you to make very quick and accurate follow-up shots, and it just helps you shoot faster because your rifle doesn’t push you back as much…

The one downside to the VG6 Gamma (and all muzzle brakes really) is that it can make your AR pretty loud. That being said, I think the benefits you get in shooting performance from the VG6 Gamma far outweigh the noise, and if the noise is a big problem for you, you can pair it with the VG6 Cage Device which will quiet down your rifle.

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The VG6 GAMMA 556 Muzzle Brake:

8. PSA CUSTOM AR 15 AMBIDEXTROUS CHARGING HANDLE

PSA CUSTOM AR15 AMBIDEXTROUS CHARGING HANDLE

For me, there are two main problems with the standard GI-style charging handle, which is what comes on the M&P 15 Sport. First, it’s small and extremely hard to pull back with just your left hand if you’re right-handed (my hand slips off almost every time)…

Second, it’s not ambidextrous (a huge problem if you’re left-handed). Because of that, I like medium/big latches on my charging handles, and even though I am right-handed, I like ambi charging handles just because they give you options…

Now you can end up spending a lot of money on a charging handle if you’re not careful, but one of the best ‘bang for your buck’ charging handles you can get to upgrade your M&P 15 Sport is the PSA Custom AR 15 Ambidextrous Charging Handle…

I love this charging handle because it has large (but not too large) latches that make it easy to manipulate your gun. It’s also ambi, which again, gives you more options (to reload, clear malfunctions, etc.) even if you’re right-handed. Last, it’s built to a high standard with quality materials. It’s a simple upgrade, but it’s one of the best accessories for your M&P Sport 2 because you’ll notice it every time you shoot your rifle.

9. Holosun 510C Red Dot Sight

Holosun 510c review

I think it’s a good idea to upgrade your M&P 15 Sport with an optic. There are many different types of optics that you can choose from, but if you choose to go with a red dot sight, I think the Holosun 510C is an amazing option…

Now the 510C is an awesome choice for several reasons. To start, it has a large viewing window which gives you a huge amount of visibility when you’re shooting. And I also love the multiple reticle system because it has a Circle Dot Reticle, which is my favorite on a red dot sight because it helps you shoot fast and accurately…

It’s also packed with useful features such as super-long battery life, a solar panel on top, and shake-awake technology, and because the 510C has a titanium hood protecting its lens, it’s a very rugged sight as well…

Last, it’s a Holosun. So that means you’re going to get a high-quality sight that’s set at a reasonable price. For all those reasons, I think the 510C makes a great pair with an M&P 15 Sport!

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The Holosun 510C Red Dot Sight:

10. MAGPUL MBUS PRO LR ADJUSTABLE REAR SIGHT

MAGPUL MBUS PRO LR rear SIGHT

Magpul makes some fantastic flip-up sights. In fact, your M&P 15 Sport 2 might have come with a polymer Magpul rear sight when you purchased it. That polymer Magpul MBUS sight is very good, but like most other parts, it can be upgraded as well…

If you don’t have a rear sight on your Sport, or if you want to upgrade your rear sight, I highly recommend you take a look at the Magpul MBUS PRO LR Adjustable rear sight. Magpul is known for their polymer products, but this is actually a steel rear sight that they offer. And even though I think their polymer sights are very good, their steel sights are even better…

Being steel, this sight is obviously going to be more rugged and reliable than polymer Magpul sights. But at the same time, it’s also very low profile when flipped down. So it can easily fit under a scope or behind a red dot and be used at a BUIS (Back Up Iron Sight). Another feature I really love about the MBUS PRO LR is that it’s fully adjustable for windage and elevation without any tools…

That allows you to really dial in your iron sights, which is obviously important because you can be more accurate, but having that ability to precisely dial in your iron sights makes shooting with them a lot more fun (in my opinion). So all in all, the Magpul MBUS PRO LR Adjustable Rear sight is one of the best sights you can get if you want to upgrade your rear BUIS.

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The MAGPUL MBUS PRO LR ADJUSTABLE REAR SIGHT:

11. Bushnell AR Optics Rifle Scope 1-8x24mm

bushnell ar optics 1-8x24 riflescope

Like I mentioned before, it’s a good idea to put an optic on your M&P 15 Sport 2, and another great option is to go with an LPVO (low powered variable optic), which is a rifle scope that can be switched from 1x power to a higher magnification very quickly…

Now, scopes of this type can get extremely expensive, but one of the best options that balances affordability with performance is the Bushnell AR Optics 1-8x Rifle Scope. This is an awesome scope for any AR 15…

I like it because it has a very useful BDC (Bullet Drop Compensator) reticle which is designed to help you acquire a sight picture fast when the scope is on 1x power (much like you would with a red dot sight) and at the same time, do hold-overs when you’re shooting at different far off distances…

I also like that the glass is pretty clear, especially considering the cost of the scope, and I love that you get a throw lever included because it allows you to switch from high to low power (and back) on your scope very easily and very quickly. So all in all, the Bushnell AR Optics 1-8x is a great scope, and it would go well with any AR 15 including the M&P Sport. (Bonus – add this magnifier to it for double the magnification!)

Click The Button Below To Learn More About The Bushnell AR Optics 1-8x Rifle Scope:

12. PSA CUSTOM 5.56 BCG (DLC COATED, DARK EARTH)

PSA CUSTOM 5.56 BCG DLC COATED- DARK EARTH

The BCG (Bolt Carrier Group) that comes in the M&P 15 Sport is very good. It’s not a part that needs to be upgraded, but if you do want to upgrade it, I think the PSA Custom 5.56 BCG is a great choice to go with…

I like the PSA Custom BCG because it’s made using very high quality materials and it’s built to a high standard. The DLC (Diamond Like Coated) finish is an upgrade over the standard finish that comes on the M&P 15 Sport’s BCG because it’s more rugged, and it also adds lubricity to the Bolt Carrier Group…

That extra lubricity makes your gun run smoother even with a minimal amount of oil, and it also makes your BCG very easy to clean because most of the time you can just wipe off the gunk with a dry rag…

The Dark Earth color also adds a little bit of flair and personality to your Sport, and I do think it’s a good idea to have spare parts ready for your AR 15 because even quality parts can and do break. So if you do choose to upgrade your BCG, you can keep your stock BCG (and all its little parts) in reserve and ready to go if you ever need them.

13. Raven Ultra-Compact 3×32 Prism Scope

monstrum tactical raven review

Another really cool optic that not many people know about right now is the Raven Ultra-Compact 3×32 Prism Scope by Monstrum Tactical. It’s a fixed 3x scope, but it’s much more lightweight and more compact than an LPVO (low powered variable optic)…

It also has a Circle Dot Reticle which is etched and can be illuminated to be red or green with the optic’s batteries. And because the reticle is etched, you don’t even need to have a battery in the scope to have the reticle show up, which is not the case with a red dot sight…

I also like the Raven because the lens is pretty clear, it’s built like a tank, it’s affordable, and it comes with a mount, so you won’t have to buy an extra part to get it mounted on your gun. So I think it’s a really cool and unique optic that would look and perform great on your M&P 15 Sport.

14. Faxon Firearms AR-15 Pencil Profile Barrel

smith and wesson m&p 15 sport 2 barrel upgrade

The AR 15 is like a lego set for gun guys (and gals), and if you haven’t realized by now, there’s really no part that you can’t customize or upgrade. Even the barrel on your M&P 15 Sport can be swapped out for something a little bit better, and right now, a really cool option is the Faxon Firearms AR-15 Pencil Barrel…

Faxon is famous for making super high-quality barrels that are very accurate, and that have upgraded features like a 1-8 twist rate. On top of that, because it’s a pencil profile barrel, adding it on to your Sport will make the gun much lighter in terms of weight (especially weight toward the front of the gun which affects how the weapon handles)…

So again, if you do want to upgrade your M&P 15 Sport barrel and maybe keep the original as a back up, the Faxon Firearms Pencil Profile Barrel is a fantastic option that doesn’t break the bank.
