Another amazing red dot for the Mini 14 is the Trijicon MRO. MRO actually standard for ‘Miniature Rifle Optic” and this is Trijicon’s direct competitor to the Aimpoint Micro T2 that I mentioned above…

This little optic is another excellent option for your Mini 14. It’s designed to be small and compact, but at the same time incredibly durable. The sight housing is super strong, and it’s rated to be waterproof in up to 100 ft of water…

All that being said, one of the main benefits of this optic over the Aimpoint Micro T2, it the 25mm Objective lens that you get. That large objective lens gives you a great field of view when you’re looking through the optic, and you get a really crisp and clean sight picture to help you make your shots. Number 3 on my list of the best red dot sights for the Mini 14 is the Holosun HS503CU, and there are many reasons why. First of all, it’s sight housing is built from 7075 T6 aluminum which makes it rugged, and it’s waterproof in up to 1 meter of water…

But in addition to, it’s jam packed with a ton of the best Holosun modern features. For example, you get 50,000 hours of battery life, but the Solar Failsafe is a welcome help when your battery is about to die on you. Also, the Shake-Awake feature will allow you to save even more battery life. And the sight weighs in at only 3 oz. So it’ll be a compact addition to your rifle when mounted…

That is not all though, it also gives you 12 brightness settings, and the multi Recticle System gives you an option of the 2 MOA dot , the 65 MOA circle, or both simultaneously (the circle dot reticle). Out of the 3 options, my favorite is the Circle Dot Reticle because it helps you shoot extremely fast at targets up close, but at the same time allows you to shoot accurately at small targets or targets at greater distances…

Number 4 on the list is an ultra compact red dot option, and it’s called the Trijicon RMR Type 2. It’s a super compact sight weighing in at only 1.2 ounces, but it’s actually very tough considering how small it is. In fact, RMR actually stands for ‘Ruggedized Miniature Reflex’ sight, and over the years, it has definitely lived up to it’s name…

Now, I love the eight brightness settings that you get with this sight which include two NV-compatible options, and the side buttons are super easy to operate and allow quick access to the brightness, auto and manual, and power-down settings…

Also, the Type 2 model is a revamped and upgraded version of a previous model (the Type 1), and it features upgraded electronics which make the sight more reliable

Aside from that, the RMR is an incredibly popular sight which means it’ll be easy to find a mount to get it set up on your Mini 14, and it also comes is several different finishes – Coyote Brown, FDE, Matte Black, OD Green, Sniper Gray, and several different dot sizes including…

Number 5 on the list is another ultra compact option, and it’s the Holosun HS507C X2…

Although this sight is mainly designed for pistol applications, it can function very well as a super compact sight on the Mini 14. For starters, you will find many of the newer Holosun features that come standard on this model…

With this sight you get 50,000 hours of battery life, which is awesome, but you also get the Solar Failsafe (to back up your battery), the Shake Awake technology to extend your battery, and the Multiple Reticle System which allows you to choose between 3 reticles that at are programmed into the sight…

The 3 reticle options include a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA ring, and a combination of the two for a circle dot reticle. The circle dot reticle is my favorite option of the 3 because it helps you shoot fast and accurately, and it really sets this sight apart from every other red dot that comes in at a similar size…

Aside from that, this sight is ultra compact weighing in at only 1.5 ounces, and it features the same footprint as the ever popular RMR which means you’ll easily be able to find a mount to get it set up on your Mini 14…

6. Sig Sauer Romeo5 (Best Budget Option!)

The last red dot on my list is the Sig Sauer Romeo5, and I think it’s the best option if you’re on a tight budget…

I love this very durable little micro red dot sight for two main reasons – value for money and a host of features that you would typically only find on more expensive weapon sights. So, yes, this is my Best Budget pick. But, firstly, it built to be a very durable little red dot sight, and secondly, it features a 2 MOA reticle with ten brightness settings, of which two are NV-compatible…

On top of that, it includes Sig Sauer’s MOTAC system, which is a motion activated feature to power the sight up and down depending on movement or inactivity, and it saves you battery life…

That being said, the battery life that you get with this sight is very good and will last for four years with constant use. The Romeo5 is also fog proof and water proof in up to 1 meter of water, and it actually comes with a high and a low mount, so you can easily get it mounted onto your Mini 14 right out of the box…

So all in all, the Sig Romeo5 is a fantastic budget red dot sight because it’s durable, gives you great battery life, and comes with 2 included mounts.
